If today is blue Monday (someone in work mentioned that it is), then after today we're over the worst day of the year already, hurray!!

Nope, it's next Monday, usually the 3rd Monday in January!

That makes sense actually as we're still a week away from payday & its still January!!!

Trust be told I'm never sure what Monday in january it actually is because IMO they're all cr*p!

    FAKE NEWS!!!!

But in reality you're spot on.

Ah I've kinda gotten over Blue Monday in the past few years, the first day back after Christmas holidays is always the hardest day for me, by the time Blue Monday comes around I've found something to look forward to, wither it be going home to watch the next episode of a new tv show, or looking forward to a long weekend, thanks Bridget!

I call for a ban to Blue Monday and Dry January.

Yes, once Blue Monday rolls around, it'll be pay day week, and the bank holiday will be on the horizon. ☀️

Was only in work for 5 hours today and was outta there by 1pm. Went and got a deep tissue sports massage, kills you at the time but it really reduces any tension and knots in the body. We also just had an Indian takeaway so all in all a pretty good Monday to be honest.

Reason to be cheerful - biopsy results all clear😁 Had that hanging over me all Christmas - 95+% sure it was nothing but until it's official, it's still there.

was really looking forward to Christmas last yr ('24).. but got flu - could still enjoy it somewhat but would love to repeat it minus flu.. so yday - 14/01 - was v happy to hear festive music in a local centra - then today, spotted an 8 pk of mince pies (BB date Feb) = €1.. all have been enjoyed with buddies.. hmm.. so the Christmas vibes are not gone yet.. woo hoo - and Christmas lights wer still lit on the trees outside SV Killarney.. woo hoo. normally I would hate to see such but this Jan - exception - roll on Christmas 2025 - hopefully I won't be sick etc - so I can enjoy it more in the moment

Heard birds singing today when I went out to the bins. Going to a 90th birthday party for a hale and hearty bil in a few weeks.

I've a conference next week which in itself is not a reason to be cheerful but it's an overnighter and the hotel has a pool so I'm going to get up early and have a dip before the second day kicks off. I haven't been for a swim in about 6 months!

Driving to westport yesterday & left the house at 6.30 am. It was a clear sky with a big bright moon that cast an eerie glow over the roads, especially on the stretches with no other traffic, was a level of brightness not seen often from just moonlight.

Made the drive a tad different to normal & was quite pleasant.

Even today, which was a really good day weather wise for the time of year, it was still a bit bright at ten past 5.

I know, I hung some washing out on the line. Giving out about the tumble dryer being on constantly is usually one of my favourite Winter pastimes 😄
