I'm surprised Murphy kept Bell on when setting up his coaching team. He hasn't been successful anywhere.

Any chance we could beg the IRFU to get us Felix Jones….i'm sure the fans could organise a whip-round.

At one stage it was 5 v 2 on our try line whilst the remainder of the team still on the half way line.

Didn't watch it but sounds like a humping.

We have to win at the weekend though to make amends.

Didn't get to see the game, doesn't sound like I should watch the recording.

Any idea how bad Carson's injury is? We're already missing Cooney, Stockdale, Baloucoune, Hume, McIlroy and Moxham in the backs.

It's a humiliating score but all I care about is where we are in the table at the end of the URC season. We're not going terribly far in Europe, and Murphy has inherited McFarland's coaching team. Bell needs replaced and possibly Soper. I think our previous loss away to Cardiff will be more important in the overall story of the season.

Yea Murphy should be judged on the league and the league alone, the ERC is an irrelevance.

I do think it's important we win this weekend though, not so much for progressing in Europe but more making sure that mentally we are in the right place. Getting humped in France and then beaten in Belfast would knock the stuffing out of us a bit I think.

Yea they are in fairness, and also 2nd in Top14 only 2 points behind Toulouse, so they're a serious outfit.

But we've toppled big teams in Belfast before.

Yeah i just can't see it unless Bordeaux want to focus on Top14 and send a weaker side. Even at that, a weaker Bordeaux seems beyond us right now.
We can't seem to do the basics right, like be fit, strong, catch a ball. Even if you have none of those attribute, at least show a little desire.

Especially when they are looking £36.75 for a ticket on the Prom.

Moxham confirmed out for the rest of the season.

Well Toulouse itself was good fun even if the game wasn't. Some great rugby on show mind - if nothing else, it may stand to 1 or 2 of ours to drive further.

From some Bordeaux investigations, seems Jalibert and Buros are being rested / out. However their fans seem to think more of us than we do. Pretty much a "if we don't take this seriously, they'll beat us". Both sides expecting a different Ulster team out.

Boniface Sa Sadie / Grey Petti / Swinton Samu BVT

Lucu Carberry / Van Rensburg Depoortere / Uberti Penaud LBB

Will need a big shift from our returning intls, perhaps Izzy or Sheridan in the lock to aid in some abrasion. Will assume a 15 of..

    EOS Herring TOT

    Sheridan Hendo

    Izzy Timoney McCann

Whichever of Doak/Cooney is fitter, Morgan

    McCloskey Postlewaite

    Lowry Moore Kok

God we need some more back 3 back..

Interesting Ulster side to face a stacked Bordeaux team, with a big start for Zac Ward on the left wing (no pressure, just opposite Damian Penaud):

    15. Mike Lowry, 14. Werner Kok, 13. Jude Postlethwaite, 12. Stuart McCloskey, 11. Zac Ward, 10. Aidan Morgan, 9. Nathan Doak, 1. Eric O'Sullivan, 2. Rob Herring, 3. Tom O'Toole, 4. Iain Henderson (c), 5. Kieran Treadwell, 6. Cormac Izuchukwu, 7. Nick Timoney, 8. Dave McCann

    Replacements:

    16. John Andrew, 17. Andrew Warwick, 18. Scott Wilson, 19. Harry Sheridan, 20. Marcus Rea, 21. Dave Shanahan, 22. James Humphreys, 23. Rory Telfer

Rory Telfer also amongst the subs for potentially his debut I think?

    Union Bordeaux-Bègles

    15. Louis Bielle-Biarrey, 14. Damian Penaud, 13. Nicolas Depoortere, 12. Yoram Moefana, 11. Arthur Retiere, 10. Joey Carbery, 9. Maxime Lucu (c), 1. Jefferson Poirot, 2. Romain Latterrade, 3. Carlü Sadie, 4. Guido Petti, 5. Jonny Gray, 6. Marko Gazzotti, 7. Lachie Swinton, 8. Tevita Tatafu

    Replacements:

    16. Maxime Lamothe, 17. Ugo Boniface, 18. Ben Tameifuna, 19. Adam Coleman, 20. Alexandre Ricard, 21. Bastien Vergnes, 22. Rohan Janse van Rensburg, 23. Matéo Garcia

Mitigation is bullsh1t. That was deliberate

I would have said that was a tucked arm and mitigation shouldn't have been applied.

He is. It’s exactly the kind of player we’re missing in the back row.

RC for me. Gnecchi doesn't signal for Bunker review ??

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,170 ✭✭✭fitz

Was just about to say the same. Tucked arm, always illegal, when he said high degree of danger, I thought he was going to give red cause that should have discounted mitigation.

Doak is killing ulster with his slow service.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 31,560 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Ulster desperately need to take advantage of the two man advantage for the next couple min.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 31,560 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

And after getting the ball back they kick it away. The mind boggles.
