I like that shattered space is all in the one location, so I will give it a go.

It would be nice if they had fixed the base game first, but then that isn't a €30 revenue raiser.

Yeah Im hoping Shattered Space has a Outer Worlds style to it (detailed crafted core World to explore) not just random generated land mass.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

Is it gonna be available for free on game pass?

I cannot wait to play this later. I will be home in about 45 mins and start the download.

I bought the premium edition so I get the dlc automatically but I don't think I'm going to bother installing it. 70 hours since release I wish I could be more excited about this game.

My DLC is just about downloaded now so getting ready to get stuck in though mind you I doubt I'll get stuck in just play it for a while which is how I usually play games. I take lots of breaks while gaming.

Ah for f**k sake ready to get stuck in after downloading the 20 odd Gig file and a second 10 Gig file to be downloaded now. Why the f**k do they not allow you to preload these as I live in the sticks with really slow internet.

    Great start! XD

I haven't played this since launch. Looking through the patches notes since then, it seems that there hasn't been much added that would significantly improve the game.

The main changes that they've added are a land vehicle, surface maps, difficulty settings, some QOL things like an eat button for food and a large amount of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Is it a better game than at launch? Yes.

If you disliked or were disappointed in the game at launch, have they done enough change your opinion? More than likely, no.

So I checked and I definitely bought the premium edition, I found the receipt from Steam in my emails. But when I look at Starfield it doesn’t appear that I have the dlc at all and need to buy it even though it was supposed to be included in the premium edition.

Anyone else have this issue? I might never play the dlc but if I’ve paid for it I want to have the option at least.

It's allegedly a glitch which should be fixed by now, but if not the workaround from this reddit post is:

Enter the game, reloading a save. Then check the Microsoft Store page for the DLC, through Creation Club or the Microsoft Store itself. Keep the game running while doing this. Then it registered that I owned the DLC, and I could download/install it. If this doesn't work, check out the other things I tried, and other posts regarding this.

Thank you! I’m deep into my first play through of Witcher 3 now so I’m not going to be playing Starfield but I’ll give that a go anyway.

About 11 hours into the DLC

    1. Visually, it's cool. Nice setting and something different with new POI included
    2. Think I'm finished -not much else to do
    3. Some side quests are just fetch quests like part of regular Starfield
    4. It feels like it should be part of the base game, not a DLC
    5. It's no Far-Harbour
    6. Its not worth the price tag

Really sounds like 30 euro is a very cheeky asking price for what’s on offer here, given Shadow of the Edtree was only a tenner more expensive and was basically its own full-fledged Souls game within Elden Ring. Or indeed what Cyberpunk’s DLC offered.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,268 ✭✭✭✭TheValeyard

    Yeah, way to expensive.

And Bethesda built it up that this was some huge, expansive game changing DLC (like Far Harbour or Cyber Punk) . It's not. It's fairly average at best.

Yeah booted up the game and tried to level up a bit as only level 27 but levelling up is so slow. Saw reviews of the DLC and just thought I'd move onto something else. Had been playing Star Wars Outlaws before it and that felt more enjoyable, not saying it's perfect either. Even after the big update a few months, could never get into Starfield

I'm enjoying this DLC not very far into it mind you. More of the same Starfield which is a good thing in my eye as I loved Starfield and don't get the hate. There is a lot of the same places which was talked about here but it's still a very good game imo. I put well over 100 hours into the base game so there is a lot of content there to do in the game.

Loaded it up the other day to finish the main story before doing the dlc, I got to a mission which had me bouncing back and forth between 2 places 3 or 4 times. I haven't gone back since.

I didn't realise I had spent close to 100 hours on it when it came out but that must have been on the faction stories because the main story seems like pure tosh.

Re leveling, it's slow as f***, too slow to open up the skill tree with the amount of different skills

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,353 ✭✭✭✭cnocbui

I was just thinking about the good and the bad in this game earlier and how several key elements are unbalanced, and this is a major one. You can easily play through 'till you become starborn and only managed to enable a quarter of the skill tree.

I actually came across a fun new quest involving Clones. Was leveling up before the DLC and came across the planet. Never seen that mission at all. Was good fun

Got the premium upgrade on instant gaming for about €19.50 earlier . Wasn't gonna pay full price for this so nice to pickup a deal without having to wait.

A few hours into Shattered Space and I'm enjoying it. It's nothing ground breaking and certainly won't change your mind on the game but good fun if you enjoy the base game. One thing is for sure - I'm very happy they added the REV-8 a while back. Makes getting between things on this planet far more enjoyable

Shattered Space is so good. I don't have much time to play which is why it's taking me so long to play it. Tonne of side missions which I am getting through at the minute. You usually get them if when walking by someone talking and you stop and listen to what they are saying.

I done a lot of quests for two scientists up on a hill/cliff face.

I don't get the hate for this DLC as you are majority on this planet I as haven't left yet. And all new buildings as I haven't met a duplicate yet which was a problem in the main game.

I also joined a new faction of bounty hunters at the beginning of this DLC that is based on the cowboy city(sorry I cannot remember the name of it). The first mission with them was fun.

Well that's a new one: I was in Akila city, at night, traipsing between the four stores where you can offload all those guns, suits, helmets, and harvested organs, when I heard that really quite bad quality crowd screaming and panicking sound, and several tertiary NPCs starting running past.

I was between the Trade Authority and Loredo Firearms and, not that the NPC's run in a consistent and intelligent direction, but there did seem to be a sense that the main square might have been where the source of the trouble was. I boost packed up onto the roofs to have a better view and headed for the area. At first I couldn't see anything, but then noticed an Ashta at the foot of those steps on the path leading to the bookstore.

Killed it and then walked the walls to check on the gates to see if someone had been stupid enough to leave one open. Sure enough, one of them was wide open with one of those shotgun toting, 'don't go outside the walls at night because of the Ashta', guards standing next to it. I closed it and continued to wander the city a bit.

I think in total I found at least 4 dead guards. Now I wish I had been a bit more thorough, because I think I might have missed finding the body of Shephard, the proprietor of the General store on the main square, because he's gone from the game and Akila city, 'heart of the Freestar collective' now only has 3 usable stores in it, unless you are into booze and books.

I refuse to buy shattered space because they never bothered to fix a lot of bugs in the base game. If you have a ship with those shipping container style holds, they still twist and get all skewed.

I got a sense of how unpopular and lose-interest-early this game really is, the other night, when I became Starborn and got a gong for a rare achievement that only 9.7% players manage to achieve.

The lack of logic in this game grates. Earth's atmosphere sputtered off and they shipped all 8-9 billion of it's population to the stars over 50 years, so you would think a good proportion of those would have ended up in the Freestar collective. So Akila is the capital city of a population in the billions. Akila has been around for well over a century, it has this problem with the destitute unemployed in the Stetch - an available labour force - and in all that time they haven't managed to pave the streets?

    The writing is dire.

Finished up Shattered Space last night and all I can say is what a DLC it was amazing. Make sure you do all the side missions as they are very good.
