What to put above window

Anything that could be put above the window here? Any sort of decorative timber length that could be bought without being made (something that would come as standard for other purpose maybe) nothing too fancy , just something to hide the clips along the top

As mentioned, search Pelmet and see what's out there or maybe add a pole above the window and drape some material around the pole and down to cover the top of the window

Be aware that there is a lintel (not a lentil 😁) above the window, a bar of reinforced concrete that extends about 20cm or so either side of the opening, and it is extremely difficult to drill into.

Those blinds don't offer too much in terms of flexibility and privacy. It's either fully open or fully closed.

Would you not consider something like this instead? Really simple to install.
