    LOL

Louise playing a song with a chorus of "I will fcuk you like nothing matters"

Lots of callers to Liveline today about that

A song by The La’s on the radio that ISN’T ‘There She Goes’! 😲😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭zoobizoo

It's well known that the La's only ever sang and recorded one single ever.

I thought it was The Coral.

The LAs not very prolific on the singles

Television, on the radio, and it's not Marquee Moon! Beegor!

Thought the shows on, both, Thursday and Friday were very good.

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be” - A. Dumbledore

“It is not blood that makes you Irish but a willingness to be part of the Irish nation” - Thomas Davis

More technical gremlins for Louise…I’m starting to think Ronan Collins pulled a few wires from the wall before he left. 😁

A great playlist again today. Shame this show isn't 2 hours long.

    The Chieftains…with Sting!! 😲

Oh Louise, you were doing so well. 😄

12-2 would suit me better, B. The liveline show on Newstalk is brutal.

Radio One should cease all music radio programming. If Newstalk and Times Radio can do almost 100% talk surely RTÉ Radio One should do the same.

    6-9..Morning Ireland

    9-11 Clare Byrne

11- 12 noon Magazine and Features

    12 noon - 1.45 News

    1.45 - 3 Joe Duffy

    3-4 Arts and Interviews

    4-7 Drivetime Talk

    7- 10 Specials

    10- 1am .. The World Tonight

    1am RTÉ GOLD

Transfer Shay, Louise, John C etc to RTÉ Gold..

Yep, I'd broadly agree with you up to say 8pm and more arts/ music/ docs thereafter. I often think the current Late Debate is a bit out of place at 10pm

Oh for Specials - suggest follow the lead of BBC R4 between 7-10pm at night..

RTÉ Radio One are making fools of us by having so much needle time and not enough intelligent well researched programmes.

Fantastic tune! Its come up on most of the R1 music shows in the last couple of weeks, no idea why!

The Bank Holiday "Collins Collection" is really scraping the bottom of the barrel today with a collection from previous collection programmes, probably recorded by Ronan sitting at home with his feet up. Very boring show.

Seriously, is there a more life-affirming piece of music than ‘Do I Do’ by Stevie Wonder?

Better get used to it, dude, that’s the way it’s been for years…….and it ain’t gonna change.

RTE seem to think they can throw out any auld shïte on holiday weekends.

Didnt Noel fix it for them?

What is with all the covers. Opened with a Carla Bruni cover yesterday of an ABBA song. Why bother?

Or is it just to get people to send in messages of annoyance of her doing this?

Some covers are good, some are bad. What's wrong with playing good covers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,395 ✭✭✭✭Furze99

I'd say she's trying to generate a bit of reaction from listeners. Wouldn't be at all surprised if she has only a small fraction of the level of requests and interactions that Collins drew in. You need to build a relationship with listeners and somehow or other I think she's hard to warm to.

Great mix again today of the familiar and unfamiliar.

This shows producer must be doing a good job on spotify.

they'd fit in more songs if it was just an automated playlist, with no links.

Grace Jones - I've seen that face before

Is an absolute toooooon, but Louise is still trying too hard at the wrong time of day.... for my liking.

    Bring Ronan back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,061 ✭✭✭ford fiesta

LD is a spoofer of music, helped by a Producer - using this as a way into a prime time RTE slot.

Yes bring Ronan back on 12 to 1...or a radio legend and a lover of music like Dave Fanning, Gareth O'Callaghan or Ian Dempsey

If Ronan can pre-record links for 3 hrs for an RTE Gold show, it makes sense that surely he can do 1 hour live on Radio 1.

Now there are some radio presenters that get on my nerves but I can't understand Ford Fiestas constant negativity towards this show. How do you know she isn't a "lover of music" and what are the exact qualifications you need to gain that title?

I find Louise very inoffensive, she doesn't come across as a music snob and seems very down to earth.

I have stopped listening to all other music shows on radio with the exception of Tom Dunne due to the absolute muck that is repeated ad nauseum on the likes of Today FM. It's great to hear songs at midday that I normally wouldn't hear on daytime radio.
