Just for reference, garda vetting took roughly 9 working days to be completed. So not too bad I suppose.

Friend of mine who applied and did the assessment was placed 388 in order of merit but I’m still waiting on my results. How long do you reckon he’ll be waiting for an offer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 GulKnolwe

I found out today that I placed 405 in Dublin and I'm looking for a thread that can tell me what number they're up to.

If any of you can share any info or even a link, I'd be very grateful.

    Thank you.

Im oom 36 for Longford and just got an email today to say I’ve been assigned to the DSP 😊 just awaiting a start date now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 redwhitekopper

Slow moving through Tipp, there are 25 ahead of me who've started the process.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 maurz

Yes, - Wexford- had interview at end of July, 2 weeks later was told l had been successful and would keep my number on panel that l had from stage 1, still waiting to hear where I'll have a CO position.

No you can't. Cause this is an open competition.

If you are coming from the public service to the civil service they will most probably put you on the point 8 scale depending on how many years you have in the public .

Hi does anyone know what it's like to work in an intero office

Is there working from home available

    Is there flexi time available

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 CookiePieS

    Best of luck!

Would you mind giving a general idea as to what number you are on the panel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Moll68

Hello redwhitekopper, hope you don't mind me asking what you mean by "started the process"? I know a few others on the Tipp panel who's oom is better than 25 and they haven't heard anything past passing the interview. I'm in the 40's myself with interview passed so thinking it will be a while yet if they haven't reached theirs yet. Are you saying that 25 have heard from clearance? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance 🙂.

Depends if your front office or back office.

Front office not as likely, back office you may solely work from home once you know what you're doing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Moll68

That's really strange, I telephoned them about 2 weeks ago and they said they had only contacted the first 2 on the panel, would wonder whats going on, as i know someone in early 20's who is waiting to hear and was told they would hear by end of August but still have heard nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭Red Honeysuckle

@Moll68 Tipp havn't started clearance at all. And I genuinely just double checked public jobs to make sure I didn't miss I text/email.

I would literally be the first to know as I'm top of the pile.

I do know that at least two have definitely been called up for mobility from other sectors to revenue in nenagh so something is coming soon but I definitely havnt been contacted yet.

Usually call in the format of 1 internal, one external mobility and one from panel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭Red Honeysuckle

Not a whisper. I may ring myself tomorrow to see but I personally havn't heard a thing and I'm genuinely top of the panel. Placed top 5 for Limerick as well but chose Tipp instead for interview.

I would be contacting them if I were you, definitely something strange with that, as I said I telephoned, took me few days to actually speak to someone as they don't answer or revert to voicemails, but persistence eventually got me speaking to someone and he told me , albeit a bit vaguely, that they had contacted 2, and the person I know in early 20's has emails from them saying they would definitely hear by end of August but hasn't!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Moll68

Ya I know they have to pull from a few panels and keep them all ticking over but still I would have thought that you being numero uno would have heard by now, when I spoke to them I was very clear what I was looking for i.e. how many have been placed from the CO 2023 Tipp panel and they said 2, hopefully you will hear soon either way but this has me thinking its going to be as slow as last year 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 Moll68

Maybe when you ring don't say you are number 1 and just see what they say 😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭Red Honeysuckle

Last year they got to about 65 quite fast and then just stalled completely. But they were still interviewing the last panel when our applications went in so it's a bit all over the place.

There has been a number of mobility offers for Revenue in Thurles and Nenagh the last few weeks. And I know of a few people who turned them down so that may open up positions. The mobility list doesn't move at same pace as open panel so it's not exactly 1 from mobility list and 1 from open panel when 2 hired. Many recent new hires in Revenue came from open panels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 redwhitekopper

    This was their response:

"Thank you for your email. There are approx. 25 candidates ahead of you to call for clearance before your position is reached."

As previously stated, I'm 34 on the list, so it was my belief that eight or nine had started pre-clearance. However, it doesn't seem to tally with what's being said here 🤔 I'll drop them another message at the end of the month to see if anything changes, just have to remain patient I guess. But if anyone hears anything else, would very much appreciate it if you could please share the details too.

    Best wishes one and all,

    Daithi

Had my interview in June/July, they only interviewed up to 20 as far as I'm aware. Currently in pre employment process up to number 14.

Does anyone know what it's like there?

Hi, I applied for Clerical Officer through my local Co. Council and was successful, OOM 13, but I hate the not knowing when I'll get the call, Can I just ring the HR Dept and ask where they are in the list and would they tell me a general timescale of when they expect to be hiring candidates?

    Hi Folks,

Got a message asking did I want to be considered for role in Galway at Revenue. Anyone know what revenue is like to work for? Also if you don't express interest does that go against you? I would be apprehensive working for them however don't want to miss out on job!

Howdy, got a message asking if I want to be considered for Revenue in Galway office

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 874 ✭✭✭crinkley

I know 2 people working in revenue and they like it, always busy and great for internal promotions they both made EO quickly and then one HEO after that, good working form home options when you get through training as well

Saying that if you don't want it contact PAS to clarify if it will go against you, with revenue they like to train in batches so would rather the full quota turned up on the first day - many times this doesn't happen and people are just a no show so if its an expression of interest I don't think it will go against you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 874 ✭✭✭crinkley

Great work from home options and able to build up flexi, some overtime available at busy periods if you want it. I thought they were running their own separate comp though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 mattiemattie

Thanks for the info! Would the people you know have had a background in using maths etc. I'm grand with that but not my biggest strength!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 redwhitekopper

No, it shouldn't. My brother was offered one with the DoJ I think, prior to accepting a role with the DSP. Also, people may have seen AGS are looking for 400 clerical officers throughout the country, may be of interest for some.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 874 ✭✭✭crinkley

Neither of them have a background but then neither work in Galway so I don't know if its mainly a call centre or what they deal with. Training is probably more intense and it appears busier than other CO roles but thats a preference, I prefer to be busy.

But if you don't feel you'd like it and it means you'll be offered something later, which you will this comp is young and you've got a good OOM, and you're in no rush I suppose you have to do what would make you the happiest

Wow. Thanks for your very generous and helpful response.! Much appreciated and helps my thought process! 🙏🙏

Hi folks I emailed Public Jobs and they replied on 28th August to advise 39 called for interview for Westmeath. They said up to 269 on Order of Merit called for previous 2022 CO campaign.

I'm 178 on panel for Westmeath, would be hoping to get called for interview even by February/March next year.

Does anyone know how long it takes +ClearanceMailbox@publicjobs.ie to reply?

I emailed all my documentation a few days ago but heard nothing back yet. Just wondering if they acknowledge the emails

Nsso is good place to work. I have been here for almost a year now. No complaints so far.
