OK so maybe I've had a few drinks but what are the reasons why humans couldn't build a real life death star type thing and put it orbiting the sun in a similar orbit to earth and go and live on it

Another 200 years of industrial evolution.

And our political system that still has us pumping up oil to burn.

What are you going to make it out of? Much easier to use the moon.

No reason why humans cannot build this. Once we have the technology to do such a thing....it will be built.

Money. That and it would need a serious amount of steel and metal as well as copper for all the wiring and plumbing and lots more other resources too. But ye if America had not wasted trillions on stupid wars we could probably have a real Death star now or better yet a real USS Enterprise or maybe even a few of them or one of each that could get us to Mars in two days and to the other planets in our solar system too.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I have no idea where to start here.

The cost would be astronomical. We don't have the technology. Plus it's ridiculous.

    Beers are good though.
