I was toying (!) with saying tamagochi and beating myself up for not, but then I realised it would have made no difference to my score anyway! 😂

I never heard of Beyblades before.

Me neither. They look like a type of fidget spinner! 🤨

That's what I was going to go for! I only recognised three of them, and it turns out one of those was wrong...... I think I dodged a bullet there!!

    Morning all

Today, I'm thinking about food. Neven Maguire (Irish Celebrity Chef, according to Wikipedia!) has a book in which he gives a christmas pudding recipe that was handed down to him. "In my opinion, no one makes Christmas pudding as good as my Auntie Maureen"

Question 9: Give one ingredient in the Christmas pudding recipe in Neven Maguire's Perfect Irish Christmas

I've never seen a pudding being made, made a pudding or eaten a pudding so this is going to be a pure guess!

I've never eaten one (yuk) but I have made them, and Christmas cakes, back when I could be bothered. 😂

I only eat the pudding my mammy makes, so will have to guess as regards Neven's auntie's version 😁

Fairly big sheep for the safe bet of flour. It's bad luck for Sephi and Heidi as there's no brandy or cherries included. Mutley, Shane and Barna pick up some great aces

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Which means new leaders, as DvB and Shane leapfrog guiri

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,772 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    😱

    WTAF??

A Christmas pudding with no cherries??????

I mean, I'm a big fan of Neven, but I might just have to reconsider.....

(I wouldn't mind, but my initial first instinct was mixed peel 🙄)

Get out of my mind, @Loughc! 😂😂

Carrots! I would never have thought of carrots for a Christmas pudding.

Music today. Fun fact: from 2006 to 2013, every Irish Christmas number one came from the winning contestant of that year's series of the British X Factor. So, of course...

Question 10: name one of these X Factor winners who had an Irish Christmas number one...

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

    OK, today's answers...

Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, Alexandra Burke, Joe McElderry

Matt Cardle, Little Mix, James Arthur, Sam Bailey

Every answer was given, but by how many people...?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Double sheep for Leona Lewis and Matt Cardle, while Little Mix somehow ace

Sticking to the music theme today, and another pointless favourite, anagrams! Anagrams of Christmas carols to be precise. For example, JILL BEGS LEN would be Jingle Bells

Question 11: give one of the Christmas carols from the anagrams below...

    COOKED ANGELS WINGS

    WATCH FESTIVE DAMES SHORTLY

    THE GREEKS WIN

    EARTH SHAKING DANGER SHELL

    BOOM TWENTIETH HOTEL FELL

    COYLY SEND VICTORIAN AID

    TED HACKS HELL

    LINEN TIGHTS

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,772 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Oh lordy, had a look at this earlier, and then completely forgot about it!

    On the way.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

No rush, still plenty of time 🙂

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

Here's today's answers, to put you out of your misery...

I think Silent Night and Deck the Halls were the easiest two, and they're a double sheep

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,637 ✭✭✭✭Electric Nitwit

That sees Guiri reclaim the lead, but there's still only 5pts separating the top ten:
