August was my first full month since I finished the install. 4kW East and 4kW West, both at about 18 degrees. Based in the South East.

995kWh generated. 665kWh exported, I have a big DIY battery but need to finish setting it up and installing it.

1st of August was the lowest with 14.3kWh and the 9th was the best with 44.7kWh

2.5 kwp system facing south Galway City, just had my best month since install in May 21.

Total for month was 366 kwh.Should also hit 4 MW since install in the next couple of days.

Solar is really starting to pay its way.😀

    Hi fellow Solar Folk

Happy to report the following for the month of August.  A reminder, I’ve a 4Kw system on an even East : West split based in South Dublin. No battery.

    Total generated: 467kw

    Highest day: 11th August, 21.46kWh

    Lowest day: 16th August 6.39kWh

Gives an average of 15kWh per day over the month. I don’t know as yet how much I am saving on my bills as I haven’t had a bill yet. It is further complicated by the fact that I changed providers to SSE in mid-August plus those various (serious) electricity increases that have also been announced.

Still waiting for my grant to come through from SEAI too but overall I’m happy with everything.

    g

    August brought me 541kWh

3.5kWp system approx 50/50 South and East, 45 degree roof.

    Highest Day 11th - 25.5kWh

    Lowest Day 1st - 8.6kWh

Better than July where we were just shy of 500kWh.

Double my slope. It's a huge benefit. Will really help in low sun winter days

6.1kWp system in Cork I produced 925kWh in August.....

To say it was a good month is a bit of an understatement 38% over the estimate. I only used 40% of it since I was on holidays for 2 weeks of it, but since I got my EV I have really ramped up the self consumption. For that stellar second week I managed to use 62%.

I reckon I saved myself around another €100 with my PV system for the month although a good chunk of the savings are in the Zappi with should be night rate.

Only one more month for a calendar year install and if I can get over 600 kWh for September it should see my 6.1 kW system produce 7000 kWh for the year

6.1kWp south facing, South of Cork City

forgive me for asking... but why do u think u import so much? i generated 200+ less and u imported 100+ more?

Is it an EV causing this or a Heatpump? or somethine else like a SMart Meter and no load shifting?

  • Registered Users Posts: 482 ✭✭septicsac

6 people living in the house, 3 kids, all with xboxes and tvs going non stop, only 5kw battery, probably need a 10kw in summer, but 5 more than enough in winter, hard to justify the price of 10kw when half the time not needed and no interest in self build batteries etc. Happy with setup, its in, does its own thing and I dont have to worry about it.

Might add extra battery etc down the line, when other things like insulation and EV purchase are sorted

On plus side i have reduced my electricity dependency by near 60% from nov to today, importing 40% of my needs

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,730 ✭✭✭yankinlk

😜 human heat pumps in a house filled with joy. Nice one. Hopefully the next generation learns from your reduce habits, but in my house I have to run round turning off lights or asking google to shut down xboxes with tapo plugs. One moved out this year and it was amazing to show him how the house consumption dropped the day after his pc, tv, laptop, cooking time left...

The best way to manage (and reduce) electricity usage is to give your wife access to your MyEnergi and Solis App dashboards 😉. She'll hound the kids to turn off devices when they are unused, and make them aware of their usage 😂

    574kwh vs prediction of 542kwh (re.jrc.ec.europa.eu)

    mid-Galway, 6.7kwp, 200° azimuth, 45° roof pitch

    Eddi 110kwh, Zappi 200kwh

overall 60% self-use, not too bad but still masticating on 3rd 2nd hand battery!

620kwh generated from 6.9 kWp for September.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,062 ✭✭✭silver_sky

4.46kWp SW facing system in North Co. Dublin with 5kWh battery, Eddi, and Zappi car charger.

September generation was 369kWh with 71% self-consumption. Worst day was 3rd September at 1.7kWh and best was the very next day 4th September with 23.8kWh.

For comparison, August was 538kWh with almost 72% self-consumption so pretty consistent. Best in August was 27kWh and worst was 6.5kWh. The gap is widening and number of days over 20kWh was more in August (6) than in September (4).

EDIT: re.jrc.ec.europa.eu predicted 368kWh in September so pretty exact. August was about 100kWh more but the weather was unusual then.

    South Roscommon, 8.16Kwp, facing 210° at 35°

Total generation 648kWh (on par with the predicted production)

    Consumed 539kWh

Energy from Grid 56kWh (mainly due to having a night charge for the EV)

    Energy to Grid 142kWh

    To the Eddi 112.3kWh

    To the Zappi 125.7kWh

To the Battery 186kWh (Upped battery capacity to 9.6kWh last two weeks on the month)

    From the Battery 163kWh

    Best day 17th with 39.8kWh

    Worst day 11th with 4.2kWh

    Running about 78% self use.

Since upping the battery storage we have imported 5kWh.

Energy exported would have generated €25.56 at Energia FIT rate if on a smart meter, we are D/N.

September was the first full month that I could compare my generation to PGVIS. I managed a total generation of 496.95 kWh against a predicted 468.7 kWh.

There were 5 days of less than 10 kWh generation, the worst being 11 and 27 Sept with 6.3 kWh.

Total feed in was 289.78 kWh, although I was away for 8 days in that time. There were 4 days of less than 1.0 kWh, the lowest being 27th Sept. I regard Feed In payment as a bonus, not a reason to oversize the system for our use.

System 5.1 kWp on a SSE facing roof + 5Kwhr battery in West Cork. I sized my system for the two of us living at home to try and get some useful generation during the 4 'dark' months. We'll see..

    Dave.
