Not sure who posted it first but Tiger to miss the cut looks like a great call

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭OwlsZat

Ya the report from him at Adare was he could barely walk.

It was actually a very brave performance after the front nine. Got awful unlucky with finding a divot on 1 too where he got a double bogey.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,739 ✭✭✭Motivator

Let’s be honest he was never going to turn up and be able to play to the standard required. Anyone thinking he could turn back the clock this week were following their heart not their head. It’s sad to see him in his current state and I love the man but there’s no sentiment when it comes to making money. The price was insane and I suspect the bookies have been hit hard, a few of them were offering specials on him to make the cut last night to try and balance the books.

    Betting w/o McIlroy & Victor

Cameron Smith looks a tasty enough price @ 17/10 BF Sportsbook, so I've had a few yoyos on the Aussie at them odds

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,336 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Ended up doing an acca with Mcilroy, Lowry, Power, Harrington and Carey. I had a feeling Harrington could let me down, but I didnt expect Power to let me down too :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 716 ✭✭✭Konny Rool

Schauffele going well early doors - 3 under for his round after 3 holes !

  • Registered Users Posts: 716 ✭✭✭Konny Rool

BF Sportsbook Both Rory & Victor to shoot 67 or better in final round - 13/2

  • Registered Users Posts: 716 ✭✭✭Konny Rool

    backed McIlroy @ 7/2,, One birdie could get a tie-breaker here 😁

My dad has cam smith backed. He had Matt Fitz backed for the US open. Good chance for him to do the double!

Good man Cameron! You'd had to push it a bit too far though...

These are my bets for the week ahead

lee slattery ew 140-1 with bet365 ISPS Handa World Invitational. Ball striking has been brilliant over the last two weeks for one of the nice guys on tour. Could be his week in a poor field.

Rory McIlroy win only FedEx St Jude Invitational. Playing the golf of his life. Best player in the world at the moment. Still at double digit figures odds. Get on!

Nicole Broch Estrup ew ISPS handa womens international. One of the best swings on the ladies golf scene and desperately unlucky to find a tough pot bunker to make a triple bogey to miss the cut in the womens open by one. Overpriced at 125-1 plus

Sam Stevens ew Pinnacle Bank Championship on the korn ferry tour. Outstanding ballstriker needs a top 3 finish minimum to secure one of the top 25 places on offer for the pga tour next season as this is the final regular kft event of the season. Made the cut at the US Open this year too.

Stefano Mazzoli ew Frederikshavn Challenge. Late double bogey at the Irish challenge costed this talented Italian a top 5 finish at the K Club. Played really well on the alps tour over the last few years and this former European Amateur Champion has all the tools to contend this week in Denmark.

Best of luck with your bets this week folks!!

Most important stats for Fed-ex St. Jude are SG tee to green, SG approach and SG around the green.

The four that stand out in those categories combined are Scheffler, Finau, Fitzpatrick and Henley.

I like Leona in the ISPS handa women's event. Hit form last weekend and she's the class act in the field.

Champions tour I think Alker is a great bet after taking a week off.

In the ISPS handa I like Conor Syme coming off an excellent performance last week.

Shamy power can make the most of a weaker field in Bermuda this week. Thought he played well up until round 3 last week. He won't need go at it off the t half as much this week.

Aaron rai should give a good account of himself on a less grueling course.

  • Registered Users Posts: 255 ✭✭eireyiddo

Shamy won't get a better chance In Bermuda. The weather's way worse for these later groups. Few threats are in the later group. Players like detry and Knox in these much harder conditions. It's the little strokes of luck u you need to win on the only tour! Some course and location in fairness. Who wouldn't want to be playing out there even in that wind and rain

  • Registered Users Posts: 255 ✭✭eireyiddo

Delighted for Shamy Power. Such an important win for him. Players and masters invite now on the back of it. Ones to watch are detry and higgo this season. Didn't realise higgo hadn't seen his coach for 3 yrs due to covid and detry for keeping it lit even in the elements on 2nd day. They'll both win soon

  • Registered Users Posts: 255 ✭✭eireyiddo

The PGA goes to Mexico this weekend for the worldwide technology championship in mayakoba

Garrick higgo is well overdue a big performance on the PGA tour. Showing signs of a return to the form that got him his reputation on the European Tour

Patrick Rodgers on his form over last few tournaments is one to keep an eye on

Sepp Straka, the big Austrian is well able to get the job done in a strong field. Think he'll give a good account of himself round here. His putter could go hot this weekend

The American express this weekend in California

Zalatoris was impressive on his reappearance after his back injury/swing change that was needed or it was rumoured he'd be crippled by 30. Mad really but all considered he played well on his reappearance in Hawaii. It was hardly an easy trek either so I think he comes into this tournament with plenty of confidence. He gets my top pick this week

My outsider punt is Ricky Fowler. He'd 2 impressive top tens on the tail end of last year and I just think he's a hot putter on a weekend short of going even closer

2 lads I'll be keen to avoid is Sam Burns and Patrick Cantlay. Maybe it's time theyre form both got out the sewer but there's much better picks on form than either them.

Si Woo Kim can be in with a shout of back to back wins and I think he'll go close but confident enough 'Will the Thrill' Zalatoris finishes ahead of him come Sunday.

The Farmers Insurance kicks off Wednesday for Saturday Finish.

Out of pure stubbornness I'm swerving Rahm to win 3 from 3 starts and going with Tony Finau. He has some steady form with a not so hot putter, that changes this weekend and I think his power can get the edge this week

Zalatoris enjoys it around Torrey Pines so I think he'll have a say come Sunday and wouldn't surprise me if he goes close again.

Outsider punt is Ryan Palmer, enjoys the course and showed eye-catching form in the matchplay event when he teamed up with Charley Hoffman in December.

Rickie Fowler continuing to show signs of steady form considering how much his form dropped. Noticeable swing changes for the better and back putting well too. Definitely has an outsider chance again this weekend

Hope I'm not regretting swerving Rahmbo but should be a good contest. Usually a tight affair in Torrey Pines with a bit of drama no doubt

I'm on Jason Day since Monday morning. I got 28/1 on him, he's been cut to 20/1.

I intend to add Rahm, Zalatoris and Finau in-running. It's a tournament where people come from behind so I'm hoping to get much better prices on all three than what's available.

Snedeker was 59th in 2016 after round 1. Rahm was 77th after the first round the year he won it. Jason Day was 113th after the first round a year later. List was five back heading into the final round last year, Leishman 19th after round 2 in 2020.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭OwlsZat

I went for Day and Homa. Hard not to see Rahm in the shake up but per eagle eye maybe can back him in running if a bit off it initially.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,482 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

So just backed Rahm after his bad day at 20/1 and Tony Finau after the same score at 40/1. They both played the tougher south course today. Rahm was 7/2, 4/1 in places and Finau 12/1 before play began.

I'll hold off on Zalatoris as I'm hoping he'll drop back playing the tougher south course tomorrow. He's currently 18/1, four points better than before play began.

    Morikawa

    Min woo lee

    Ew double

  • Registered Users Posts: 255 ✭✭eireyiddo

2 good looking picks now, Rahm be licking his chops at that leaderboard I'd say. All got through very tough conditions yesterday

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭OwlsZat

Happy enough with that! Both live chances anyways. Homa has been very solid, Day scrambling well. Stuck a cover bet on Rahm too at 15/1s. Hoping Ryder has a nice wobble early doors.

Just a quick question folks.Who is best for betting odds during a tournament or are they all much the same?

It varies. If you want best odds it's likely if you're an E/W bettor that less places will be paid etc.

    Just use Oddschecker
