2020 Executive Officer Civil Service

I was in this situation before and PAS accepted the letter of service, but I also provided a second character reference. However, this was for a TCO position so they may have been a bit more lenient. Best of luck with it, I hope it works out for you.

I just went into the application form for the new EO role in the civil service. When I clicked on the interdepartmental option a message came up to say that 'candidates must be serving in an established ,unestablished or acting capacity in the civil service in a grade below that of executive officer'. So I guess I can't apply for EO when I'm already an EO.

@Dublintigger thank you very much. So glad to have it over now. I actually have a seperate interview in the afternoon aswell so the stress of it all. They said approx 10 days for results.

@carriet90 Hi Carrie, so the interview was approx 40 minutes. Starts of by going through your application form so your education and your work experience to date. This give you the opportunity to discuss any new education or jobs you may have undertook since applying back in August 2020 for the comp.

There are 2 interviewers and a PAS representative on the call.

First interviewer will go through 2 competencies. Asking you maybe 4/5 questions on each. Prepare to be interupted.

The second interviewer asks about remaining 3 competencies again 4/5 questions on each probing questions. You have time at the end to say anything you feel will add to your interview or ask question. PAS rep said it would be approx 10 days to hear.

Nothing really unexpected to know the PAS values.

Does anyone have any information on Tipperary? Also, what email address are you contacted by when your OOM is reached?

PAS have just announced an extension of this panel to August 2022 so you could very well get called for interview.

I believe it differs from county to county. Dublin's batch numbers would be far higher than smaller counties (smaller as in departments/available positions).

Ok - I havent received an email re same as of now.

You could contact the HR section and enquire about this. I'm sure every Department is different so better to contact HR directly.

After approx 6 to 8 months

That's the main gripe I have about these competitions. At least if we knew a ball park figure of how many will be called we would know where we stand. Guess it's just a waiting game for August to see how many will be called.

I’m in batch 5 Dublin, still waiting on my interview results, I see people on here from batch 5.1, whom have gotten placements….
