It's an early model Series 70 Land Cruiser.

This one on Done Deal is a later 1993 one.

You could probably get chrome bumpers to give it the retro look if the wrap is covering damage.

    Wanted:

    A 1987-1995 Mercedes SL (R107 or R129)

Ideally a good, clean, low mileage car in good condition with a good service book & maintenance records.

I'd like it as an occasional , weekend type car usage (estimated ~3000km /yr)

Looking forward to hearing from anyone with one of these. Kindly pm me with contact details, etc.

superb cars - incredibly well made and smooth too for a 30 year old vert. If I was buying again I would hold out for a 500 though. I cannot comment on this one, other than I would question the originality of the colour ( Not saying it isnt, but at a minimum the Sacco panels should be a different colour ). Take your time and spend wisely ( and certainly dont buy anything sight unseen )

    Thanks Rob,

Though not yet a classic would you (or other posters here) rate this 19994 500SL as a better buy?? (It's pricier but looks a very clean 500SL, yummy :) )

    https://vandp.net/sales/2180/1994-mercedes-500sl-cabriolet/

    All input much appreciated

thats lovely, but if you are bringing that to Ireland it's going to have cost you a LOT of money by the time its on soil. You'll be waiting for a while till its worth what you are paying for it here ( I think ). However, in the mean time you'll have a fantastic car. I honestly believe they are one of the best classics available. Far better car then the R107 it replaced ( and rot a lot less ) and ground breaking in their day, but still totally useable now. Its a real rung or 2 above the w124 it was based on in terms of class and feels like it could survive nuclear attack but the 500 is also still a bit of a hooligan when pushed on.

The R129 is a very good car but they have their issues. The soft top must work properly and travel from full close to full open within 30 seconds with engine running. Hydraulic cylinders are very expensive for these hoods and recon kits can cost €1000 with pumps clocking in a €500. The hydraulic fluid should have been changed every four or five years. The ECU for the roof mechanisms can blow if the car has been jump started. Interior parts are eye wateringly expensive as well. They also rust just like a W124 if not looked after but generally these cars are looked after. The 320 V6 is a lovely engine with plenty of go but doesnt have the V8 grunt or sound. Get the V12 if you have big balls and pockets!

This was my one before I sold it last year.

I bet you wished you kept it until this year! These have exploded in value, I'd say more than doubled in the last 12 months.

The asking prices have exploded but the selling price hasn't. Im very happy with the price I got for it

I'm selling this one. Its a 1995 E200 auto and I've owned it for almost 9 years and its a good one! She has 92,600 on the clock. I'm looking for €7750.00 as you see her here with a new NCT and loads of tax. If you are interested send me a PM.

    Hi Rob,

A quick update. I took delivery of the blue 300SL a few months back. I got the full once over by a specialist classic Mercedes mechanic (so changed all the fluids, oils, filters, belts, a few brushes, a loose roll bar sensor, as well as new brake fluid lines). So €1500 later for this, plus a few covers, including one for the detachable roof, floor mats, Bluetooth kit, etc, etc. And I'm all set to go.

I've been driving it all this weekend with the roof down. The car is an absolute beauty. It drives really well, the roof is working perfectly, it's comfortable, stylish, a real head turner, & a really lovely car to drive around with the top down, which is what I got it for.

    Everyone should have one!! :)))

I'm open to swapping my MG BGT for another classic that either has seats in the back (only enough for small children, not necessarily a big 4 door) or a convertible. Dream would be both. Ford Capri, any Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, would be what would catch my eye but open to anything. Must be 30 years old though. Never had any issue with mine and has always started straight away. Really reliable and fun and only changing as I want to experience different classics. Doubt I'll get as lucky again but fingers crossed. Paid circa €7k 3 years ago and see them advertised for €9k-€10k now but not looking too much at price. Something of similar value and straight swap would be best. Not looking to put her up for sale for cash as wouldn't want to be without anything over the summer. Can PM pics if anyone interested. Thanks.

Thinking of picking up a well minded W126, preferably a late 300se model with leather. I know there are a few online at present but I'd like to buy one from an enthusiast!

I have a 1990 300SE with velour interior. Class winner in the Mercedes Benz Club UK Concours competition last year. 90,000 miles on the clock.

Going to be moving abroad suddenly in January. Looking to sell two Fiestas as a result. Would welcome any opinions on the ads and the prices being asked.

The MK2 I am very reluctant to sell, and will probably just store if I don't get the asking price.

Happy to hear any feedback. Good, bad or indifferent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,217 ✭✭✭NuckChorris1

Think this is a fair price? Think I’m middle of the road as there’s a few MGs available. Looking to sell and then buy something else for early next year.

I’m going to be putting this 1981 911sc up for sale on the usual sites, recently serviced and electrics tidied up so all in working order after sitting for many years indoors. 72k miles with FSH. Anyone any idea of a value?

  • Registered Users Posts: 64,547 ✭✭✭✭unkel

@enterusernamehere - that's lovely. No idea of the value.

I thought I had put up my own car for sale here, but looks like I haven't. It's a 2003 MINI Cooper S R53 supercharged
