    Nope! :(

Every time I went to order one the fulfilment date wasn't for ages, I think it's June if you order one now - been trying to find a more immediate solution that doesn't cost a kidney.

Jeez, I've a spare one doing nothing here, best of luck on your adventure anyways.

Let me know if you fancy moving it along! Could even swap you something :)

I rest my coffee cup on it. Just haven't got round to putting one in cab fully and one in the case and setup at tv :)

Cost a pretty penny from Terasic Taiwan and customs :(

New core for the MiSTer, this one is developed by the guy who did the SNES and MegaCD core, who's working on the Saturn core, who's in Ukraine at moment, so pretty wild to see it come out.

I have zero 32X knowledge other than it being notorious, but I'll grab a few games and check it out!

My Mistercade arrived to the door today, UPS man with his hand out for 65 euro, cash.

No notification in advance so I'd no cash in the house.

    Infuriating, so close!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,780 ✭✭✭eddhorse

So he kept it? Could be worse could have had the DE10 Nano sitting there ready for the weekend too.

He did indeed! Won't hand it over until I cough up the money.

No problem paying (as annoying as it is) - just so archaic to have to hand cash over at the door. If anpost can have an online import duty payment system then surely UPS can too.

But yeah as you noted, still no DE10 Nano so it would just be irritating me from it's box on a shelf anyway as I can't exactly do anything with it yet!

Can you take some pics of the extra board and mounting stuff that comes with v1.1 when you pay UPS?

Sure! Gratuitous pornographic boudoir style photos to follow shortly.

I have a mouser order in, have a notion of one in a cab myself.

I see that a Sega 32X core was released, initial release and audio is a little funky (and in Doom, fireballs don't seem to move) but still great all the same.

Finally managed to get this delivered by UPS, Mistercade v1.1.

Absolutely gorgeous looking board. Still don't actually have a MiSTer setup so can't test it out as of yet, bit hopefully I'll manage to remedy that in the not too distant future.

Thanks, @o1s1n, the daughter boards are a really great addition. I hope I can get them separately one day. For now, I've 3D printed a little stand to support the overhanging JAMMA edge part of the board.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,201 ✭✭✭KeRbDoG

Looks great - I might get something like that myself.

Did one of the buttons beside the fan get a whack?

Good spot! Didn't catch that at all myself - wonder what happened there. I literally just took it out of it's bubble wrap before taking that photo.

The little metal plate holding the button down had lifted, managed to seat it back down thankfully.

Anyone know if this displays a bios or anything when you connect it to a cabinet without a MiSTer attached actually? tempted to give it a go now if it does just to make sure it's working.

    It won't do anything.

    Mistercade accessories now available separately.

Tempted by the XL, but it all depends on shipping costs!

Finally ordered myself a DE-10 Nano board. Delivery not until the end of July though, booo.

I've actually been waiting for an Ultimate MiSTer to come back in stock and was just about to pull the trigger on one after contacting the site owner - had a look at how you actually set the MiSTercade up - glad I didnt! DE-10 board mounts directly to it, so the Ultimate MiSTer would have been an absolute waste as I'd have had to take it apart anyway.

I was thinking (for whatever reason) that you connected the DE10 to the MiSTercade via one of the DE10's video out ports, not the pins on the board itself.

Will you need a Mister RAM module for whatever cores you are looking to run @o1s1n ?

Yep, I am hoping they're a little easier source!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,003 ✭✭✭Colonel Panic

Plenty to be had. I'm using this one in my Mistercade setup.

Got a VGA->SCART cable to see how the MiSTer looked like on a standard CRT. Unsure what I was expecting but its exactly like a the systems looked like with an RGB cable :D and if they didn't exist, it looks better than composite! Some cores have a composite filter for the output for the 'better than RF but worse than RGB' feeling :D

Interesting one is that the Arcade cores output like they would via their RGB output and the rotation options only work for the HDMI output. Makes sense, the VGA output is raw from the core. Good to know if you wanted to use a MiSTer on a horizontal arcade cab to play vertical arcade cores.

Re: RAM - yup, best to get the 128mb. I thought they are priced a little too steep until I priced up the RAM chips themselves. Doesn't make a lot of sense to make one as a one off at all.

Yeah, the video output is (usually) timing accurate RGB that bypasses the scaler that sends things to HDMI via optional rotation and filters.

Then you got the main bit!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,201 ✭✭✭KeRbDoG

Tbh, it's great when you think about it...but still annoying :) You might change the existing silicon with modern, but you are still stuck with whatever dip switches for flip/rotation of the old boards if you are using standard VGA.

Doesn't effect most of the home consoles of course, fired up MGS on the PS1 on a CRT after playing it on a large flat panel TV over the weekend. It was like I was playing it in 1999. Change that year when quickly loading up SMW on the SNES or Sonic1 on the MegaDrive. Have to try out more.

Yes, all can be done with the original hardware but who has the time to be faffing with power sockets, swapping scart plugs, where is that controller? Do I have that cart? etc.

    Just fun

Yeah i noticed the rotation issues alright, Some games seem to have a flip option.

Also when i changed my monitor to vertical i had to 180 it in the Mister.ini file

Easiest way is to have it on network and FTP to it, edit Mister.ini file.

    osd_rotate=0      ; Display OSD menu rotated, 0 - no rotation, 1 - rotate right (+90°), 2 - rotate left (-90°)
