Why are you going down this batshiat silly route?

There's a global pandemic. Considering that these are health professionals, I am pretty shocked that 2% of them are unvaccinated. The "my body my choice" excuse doesn't wash, these health workers can be facing at-risk clients, and they've chosen to increase the risk to others by not being vaccinated - it's literally their profession.

Lol and when you're cornered again you dodge ignore and throw out a new tangent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Hoop66

It's because he's a liar. But we all knew that already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,668 ✭✭✭whippet

I haven’t looked in here for a week or so - and I still see the round about argument with the same posters.

    Just ignore them.

As has been pointed out many times the overwhelming evidence is that these vaccines are safe and effective.

Hospital refuses heart transplant for man who refuses to vaccinate

Organs are in extremely short supply - talk about a choosey beggar

2 kids, another on the way, 31 years old and needs a heart transplant (which is pretty damned interesting, pretty young and was it wise to have kids with such a dangerous defect? A discussion for another thread.) Typical massively selfish anti-vaxxer not looking beyond his own navel, leaving those precious kids that I'm sure he'd claim to do anything for, fatherless. Glad the hospital is following good medical procedure, can't waste precious organs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,743 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

Exactly, and since organs are so rare, and the procedures are so complex, the staff need to know if the patient will adhere to medical policies afterwards (to keep the patient alive, fight off infection, specific diets, specific medication, etc). Basically they need to vet patients to make sure they are not wasting a precious organ. This guy is demonstrating to everyone that he's a waste of a donor organ, and as you mentioned, his level of selfishness in regards to his kids is off the charts.

But why would your imaginary doctor brother do this if he believes that the vaccines aren't effective?

Does he know that you are spilling the secret information he gave you on boards?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Yes so you keep saying. But you can't seem to actually show this and have to lie about having a doctor brother to support it.

If your imaginary brother agrees with your claims that the vaccines are useless, why did he get vaccinated?

Does he know that you are saying this stuff online and outing him as the source of this secret information that the vaccines are useless?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Lol. Why have you copy pasted this? What has it got to do with any point being made about a vaccines?

There are criteria to getting a transplant, this man refused to follow the rules. Better the heart goes to someone deserving who will make full use of it rather than someone who will risk killing himself and that heart due to being seriously in danger.

This same man that won't get a vaccine is happy to have a heart from another person inserted into his chest and then take multiple anti rejection drugs for the rest of his life,

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

But how could he be misinformed when he's a doctor? Are you just better at medicine and science than he is?

And again does he know that you are leaking the fact he's your source for this classified information. (That you can't actually show is true.)?

Why not ask your pretend brother about all of the other reasons why people can be turned down for organ transplants?

If a guy who is misinformed and ignorant like that gets a new organ why would he listen to doctors went they tell him about all of the stuff he needs to keep doing to stay healthy with a new organ? One example of which is maybe needing to be vaccinated because transplant recipients are generally immunosuppressed.

Would be a bit pointless to give him an organ when he's needlessly taking risks with it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,395 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

No one takes the Hippocratic oath anymore, I would be more than happy for a hospital to deny someone an organ if they are going to abuse it if it means someone else gets to live a long happy life.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,057 Mod ✭✭✭✭robinph

Sure it is. Shortage of organs for transplant. Someone who refuses to follow medical advice gets knocked down the priority list behind someone who will.

You'll be unlikely to get a new liver if your an alcoholic who won't give up the drink, they won't waste the time, effort and organ on you if there is a better recipient around who will be a more likely successful candidate to receive the organ.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

But I have. People get denied transplants all the time for a variety of reasons.

For example people who are alcoholics are not able to get kidney transplants.

I notice now you're trying to deflect to this topic because you're abandoning your previous claim about having a fake brother who is a doctor and the claim that everyone in the icu had delta.

Why are you running man? Are you afraid that your point is being exposed as another one of your fibs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,395 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

    A heart becomes available

There are 2 matches, who should get it?

The 45 year old overweight who smokes, drinks and refuses to give up either?

The 45 year old non smoker who agrees not to drink before the operation and had started losing weight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Yes. I can comprehend it perfectly well.you are a liar who's been caught out telling lies many times. I think you are doing so here too.

So your brother isn't a doctor. OK. What's his expertise? How do you know more about medicine than him? How does he have access to this secret information?

Does he know that you are exposing him as a leak of this secret information and that you're calling him misinformed?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,057 Mod ✭✭✭✭robinph

They prioritise who gets transplants or not, much the same way that they prioritise who got offered covid vaccines first. Who has the most urgent medical need and who will the intervention have the most successful outcome for.

So the older and more medically vulnerable people got the vaccines first, and the people who will follow the required medical advice about vaccines and how to live their life post transplant get the transplant.

Vaccines we can make more of so we all get offered them eventually, human organs, not so easy to come by.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

The guy who understands how vaccines work or the guy who's going to refuse all of the immunosuppressant drugs he needs post transplant because he declares that all medicine is a giant global conspiracy to make money and he doesn't need anything cause his immune system is strong.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Neither. You pick the next best candidate that doesn't engage in risky behavior because of addiction to tobacco or misinformation on the internet.

    They explain it pretty well.

It wasn't because they agree with your lie and believe that boosters are not effective and dangerous.

You are misrepresenting them because that's all you and your dishonest position can do.

You are again getting all pissy and trying to deflect from the topics at hand.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Lol, dude. You're deflecting from the points you've made.

Dohnjoe explained why the measures were lifted to you in a way a child would understand. I agree fully with that explanation.

So again please go back and read that. And on the way Mayne try addressing some of the points that you are trying to run from and getting all pissy about.

Particularly you could show that your claim about who is in the ICU is actually true. Please point to something other than hearsay from a fictional brother.

Also it's very cute when you guys do this mirroring "nah uh you are!" Thing. Really shows the level of maturity behind anti-vaxxers and conspiracy theorists.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,743 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

It's not in line with getting an organ. You have to follow a strict medical regime pre, during and post op. This guy has chosen not to. So the organ will go to someone else who won't waste it.

Christ you're such an anti-vaxxer to the bone it's incredible.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,057 Mod ✭✭✭✭robinph

I thought you didn't get a booster because you thought they didn't work against omnicron, and omicron was everywhere the week you claimed that and you wanted to get omnicron itself for better protection from omnicron. But then you switch to not getting the booster because its a waste of time. Then apparently your not getting it because your sibling told you everyone actually had delta and not omnicron, but by this point you seemed to forget that the vaccines worked against delta as well.

Now you claim to not want the vaccine because you want people in other countries to have it instead.

  • Registered Users Posts: 25,226 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

And he also had delta and it wasn't a big deal and that all of the numbers are being inflated and that the hospitals weren't under strain.

This is why conspiracy theorists want to keep changing the subject. None of their claims fit together and often contradict each other.

Folks like phishnet don't realise this because they never stop and think about what they are claiming and reading fro. Conspiracy media.

Conspiracy pushers keep claiming this stuff because one catchy or shocking headline after another keeps bringing in the views and they know their target audience isn't going to realise what's happening.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Hoop66

Jumping from point to point & failing to answer reasonable questions are certainly what I look for in someone I consider trustworthy.

@Phishnet you have been caught out lying, shown that you do not understand statistics/data and continually dodged questions. What is it that you think you bring to this discussion?

If your brother is a Doctor, and he thought a vaccine stops transmission 100%.... maybe he shouldn't be a Doctor

For clarity RE the transplant case

He was removed from the transplant list.

US hospital refuses to perform heart transplant for unvaccinated patient

    https://f7td5.app.goo.gl/BNuhkH

"Brigham and Women's Hospital told the BBC in a statement: "Given the shortage of available organs, we do everything we can to ensure that a patient who receives a transplanted organ has the greatest chance of survival."

A spokesman said the hospital requires "the Covid-19 vaccine, and lifestyle behaviours for transplant candidates to create both the best chance for a successful operation and to optimise the patient's survival after transplantation, given that their immune system is drastically suppressed".

The hospital's carefully worded statement may suggest other factors lie beyond the patient's unvaccinated status for his ineligibility, but it refused to discuss specifics, citing patient privacy.

The hospital added that most of the 100,000 people on waitlists for organ transplants will not receive an organ within five years because of the shortage of available organs."

"Dr Arthur Caplan, head of medical ethics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, told CBS News that after any organ transplant a patient's immune system is all but shut down and even a common cold can prove fatal.

"The organs are scarce, we are not going to distribute them to someone who has a poor chance of living when others who are vaccinated have a better chance post-surgery of surviving," said Dr Caplan."

One anti-vaxxer conspiracy theorist in here just flat out claimed to be a doctor. One who thought a shadowy elite global power was putting symbolism on baby clothes. Last I checked he was thread-banned on the Covid forum. These people are fanatics.

There is a thread on this forum asking why Conspiracy Theorists always lie. I’m sure input would be appreciated there from the guys that appear to be quite vocal with their lies on this thread. For some reason they avoid the liar thread.
