I would like to get up to date share price (and possible other values) automatically updated to my excel spreadsheet whenever I open it, taken from the likes of Yahoo/Google finance/wherever, is this possible, and if so could you post the formula please.

It wouldn't so much be a formula, but code - and a lot of it. And you probably wouldn't bother wrapping that code around a spreadsheet, but a DB!

And, no offence - but this is one of those things that, if you have to ask then, no, you won't be able to do it yourself 😁

There's a few options, some involve scraping your preferred pricing provider and are a bit complicated.

There is a plug-in that claims to do it, but I have no experience of it.

I haven't used excel as a tool for portfolio management in quite a while and would generally only manage my base pricing and BEP in it as a secondary tracker these days.

Not excel but close, and a lot more easy to do it.
