Is it Saorview approved. If not you will need a aerial.

You will need an aerial whether or not it is Saorview approved if you want to use Saorview - it is digital TV through your aerial. Being Saorview approved just means that Saorview (2rn) have certified that the TV does indeed work as designed with Saorview, but does not relieve you of the need to have an aerial of some sort - in some areas an indoor “rabbits ears” type aerial might work but in others you might need a rooftop aerial and this will all be dependant on your location among other factors.

You will need to ensure your TV is set to Ireland, select the terrestrial tuner (LGs are a bit finicky on this, the terrestrial and satellite channel lists are usually completely separate) and then run a search for channels.

    Coverage by address https://www.saorview.ie/en/get/coverage

    Coverage by map https://ukfree.tv/maps/saorview

Choose a Saorview Approved TV or connect a Saorview Approved box to an existing TV. Either way, connect to an aerial and start watching for free.

Avoid rabbits ears as VHF isn't used any more, anything sold as "digital" has been marked up in price.

    Something like this https://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9422146/Trail/searchtext%3EAERIAL.htm
