Personally I think they should instead sell kits for popular cars such as a ford focus. Keep prices down by volume of exact same kit, with regional installers. However Irish people want their 221 reg. You are probably realistically looking at 30,000 euro for a completed banger. Prices might drop to 20,000 or 10,000 but it's far from simple. Insurance may be an issue too, but cars will be road legal with NCT and 120 euro road tax.

On the programme they did seem to be saying that kits and buying in bulk was part of their objectives going forward.

Small world - that's my brother's old Audi - in 2003, we both wanted decent practical estates with a bit of power, and settled on the Audi 80 Avant 2.0 16v, which has 139BHP. They were never sold in Ireland (only the 8v, with 112BHP) so we looked up UK Autotrader and went on a weekend trip to the UK, driving around in a rental car, viewing all the likely ones, and we bought two of them and drove them home. This was my brother's, and mine was 93-D-43690, which I sold in 2011, and it ended up back in the UK with its original reg K418 XFR, but sadly it hasn't been taxed since 2015, so it's probably dead now.

Great to see this one get a new life.
