Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Home Insurance Cover - While Building an Extension to Home

    Hi

    Just wondering if normal home insurance cover still applies while building an extension at the home, or does this work "void" home insurance cover.

    You need to notify your home insurer. They’ll probably need you to fill out a questionnaire and increase your cover temporarily as you need to make sure your cover is adequate during the renovations. When we did it our monthly premium temporarily increased by about €5 a month.

    You might also need temporary cover for your contents if stored elsewhere during the work.
