Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Boards Champions League 21/22

    I'll run this in McBains place this season. Same as last year, 16 teams.

    Groups will be decided by teams OR. If we fill the league before the GW7 deadline it will be the OR at the end of GW7, fill before GW8 deadline, OR at end of GW8 etc.

    - Group A - 1st, 8th, 9th, 16th

    - Group B - 2nd, 7th, 10th, 15th

    - Group C - 3rd, 6th, 11th, 14th

    - Group D - 4th, 5th, 12th, 13th


    Matches will be played for 3GWs, a weeks break, 3GWs, a weeks break and then the knockout stages will be two consecutive GWs and a weeks break.

    Ties for Group A will be 1st v 8th, 1st v 9th and 1st v 16th and then ties reversed.

    Group A will face Group B in the quarters; Group A winners will face Group C winners in the semis.

    €50 to enter, 1st = €500; 2nd = €250 and the beaten semi-finalists will play off for their stake back.

    TIEBREAKER SCENARIOS


    Group Stage

    • If teams are level on points at the end of the group stage, tiebreaker will be points difference

    - If teams are level on points difference, tiebreaker will be head to head results between those 2 teams (if both teams won 1 game each, aggregate scores count).

    - If more than 2 teams are tied on points, points won in matches between the 3 tied teams will come into play. If still level, aggregate scores in matches involving just those 3 teams come into play.

    - If still tied after the above scenarios, the team with the highest FPL overall rank will win the tiebreak.


    Knockout Stage

    - 1. TOTAL GOALS SCORED by all selected players in the 2 legged ties (including all chips so bench boost goals count, regular captain goals worth double, triple captain goals worth triple etc.)


    2. If still tied, TOTAL ASSISTS by all selected players in the 2 legged ties (including all chips so bench boost assists count, regular captain assists worth double, triple captain assists worth triple etc.)


    3. Sum of all CAPTAIN TOTALS in the 2 legged ties (triple captain will also count in this)


    4. Fewest RED&YELLOW card points by all selected players in the 2 legged ties (including all chips so bench boost cards count, regular captain cards worth double, triple captain cards worth triple etc.) based on my disciplinary points system

    - yellow card = 1 point

    - regular captain yellow card = 2 points

    - triple captain yellow card = 3 points


    - red card = 3 points

    - regular captain red card = 6 points

    - triple captain red card = 9 point

    Confused by above. Is it the top 2 in each group or the group winners only that go through to knock-outs ?
