Solo Cycling Holiday Recommendations

Warm and dry would immediately rule that out for late October….

Malaga, beautiful spins in every direction from 50 to 200kms, 1000m climbs, couldn't recommend it enough. If the mountains really is your thing there's always Granada nearby for the 3000m roads.

Rent a carbon felt with Di2, discs and carbon wheels from the guys at bikestardo cycles for 40 quid a day, they'll drop and collect to malaga.

I'm just back from a week in Tavira (Eastern Algarve), weather was excellent mid to high 20's and I would expect that later this month.

Forty minutes from Faro airport, good local bike hire €20/25 per day (Full Carbon/105 GS) quiet local roads North of the N125, some lovely climbs but no stupid gradients (mostly), loads of accommodation and cracking value restaurants.

Lanzarote is mid-20s all year round, has a lot of cycle tourism and hence places to rent from, fairly traffic free, small island and the main resorts (Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen) are less than 20 mins from the airport.

I did 4 days in wales late October 2020. I would go again in a heartbeat so adding it as a suggestion although as I look at your list again maybe my suggestion misses the mark! 😂

• I’m thinking 4 nights - check. Accommodation is easy to organise on as you go.
• Rent a bike as opposed to bringing my own - ferry, bring your own, easy life
• Medium-mountains would be good - check, all sorts available
• Climate must be generally warm and dry - um, probably not
• Cycling destination would be good (Girona/Cambrils) - Brecons / Snowdonia
• Must be relatively close to an airport - refer to ferry

Wales is beautiful though.

Just back from North Wales, and I can safely say the weather has turned. It's very wet this time of year, great roads and a beautiful place, but wet.
