I have a pdf if you can open it.
Just got email on Tuesday to submit my Garda clearance form, photo ID and self declaration form. Looks like things are moving :-)
Can I ask if you got results yet. I had my interview for Offaly last Monday. Heard nothing yet.
Yeah I did. Got my results the Monday evening. I placed in Batch 7 top 5 so I'm thrilled. I contacted them and they said they are working on batch 6 still. Best of luck with yours
Yes, all completed. Congrats on Revenue post, I'd say that will be interesting :)
anyone know if you have a criminal record will it come up in the Garda Vetting ?
I'm open to correction but I believe vetting disclosures do include all details of a criminal record. District Court convictions over 7 years old for specific minor offences will not be included in vetting disclosures - unless the position to be filled is with AGS or the Courts.
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts"
thanks for the reply , a few years ago i was arrested for hitting a Bouncer , i was in court and i had to pay a 1000 euro fine which i paid , i admitted it was my Fault , this is my only arrest (im aged 41 ) would this show up ? also i have no leaving cert (im 41)
If anyone is looking for an update I was number 36 in batch 26 for Dublin. I was offered the valuation office. Garda vetting took about a week and a half once that was cleared I was offered my placement within a day.
Some minor offences become spent after 7 years and are not included in the vetting disclosure, however they must be disclosed for employment purposes when it concern AGS, the Courts, and some Gov't departments. So even if they are not disclosed through the vetting procedure you must disclose them.
Spent convictions include convictions in the District Court for minor public order offences and a single conviction other than a motoring or public order offence in the District Court which resulted in a fine or a prison term not exceeding of 12 months. Convictions under the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person will not become spent and will always be disclosed.
I would suggest contacting Citizen's Information, or even your local Gardaí, to discuss the specifics of your conviction and how it will affect employment prospects within the public sector.
one again thanks for the reply and detailed answer , i have 1 more question for most clerical roles you need to have your Leaving Cert , i was wondering if there is a pre course you can undertake for a Clerical Officer Role ?
I am looking for some guidance please.
Thankfully I have been offered a position based in Dublin as a CO in Customs.
Unfortunately I live a good distance away and financially it would be a challenge to say the least, I have deferred the 1st offer to be placed on the list for the next training date , TBA.
I would really like the opportunity to take this position possibly closer to home.
Can anyone advise me on the best way of achieving this.
As I really want this particular job.
Any help or guidance would be great
would you consider staying up in dublin and rent a room from someone? I don't know what days you would be working though but a lot of folk would take on a lodger Monday to Fridays.
Hi, does anyone know when this panel ends? I'm hoping the 2021 panel will be soon...
I received this myself on the same date as yourself, have you heard any more on an interview?
The competition has been extended. No end date set yet and they expect it to continue for the foreseeable future
Any word on how far The Galway Panel is progressing?
Thanks in advance.
Hi... anybody know what batch and oom they are on for Louth after interviews... or what email address to use to find out.. thanks 👍
Last time I checked they had placed upto Batch 8 place 15.
Can someone tell me how many are in each batch. Thanks
Hey, does anybody know what batch and oom they on for Dublin after interviews?
Unfortunately that would be extremely difficult due to a young family .
Its undoubtedly a massive decision to make as far as I know its shift work I think 3 shifts.
How many days does 'additional security clearance' take I filled in 1 garda vetting and 1 word document form for clearance ? I have submitted all docs. No reply from PAS since 2 weeks. Many thanks.
Hi all. Is there anyone working in Dept Agri Food and Marine? I have been offered a position here. Would appreciate any information on what to expect in regards to a typical day in this section. And what are the work hours , is there flexi time ? Thanks in advance 👍
My husband had no LC and is working in Revenue so no..you do not need it :-)
Apologies for the delayed reply.
I know a few people working in Government departments who didn't complete their leaving cert for one reason or another. However, if you're looking to upskill I would suggest checking out the courses listed on your local further education training centre website. They offer great courses at very affordable prices. If you're not working currently you may be entitled to have your course fee waived. Having recent courses/education on your CV also shows a willingness to learn and an interest in self-development.
Would anyone know whether previous TCO contracts count towards increments in salary once I start as a permanent Clerical Officer? I have only ever worked as a temporary clerical officer, I am currently working as a TCO and have been offered permanent CO to start soon, on my current TCO payslip it says I am 'point 2'.
If I was to take three weeks off at the end of my TCO contract before I start as permanent CO will that affect my increments?
Any help would be really appreciated! :-)
It will count, get on to People Point when you start and they will advice you. Taken 3 weeks off will not affect your increments.
The shifts are 5am to 1pm, 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and night shift is 11pm to 7am.
