I turned 50 at the start of the year. It seems like no length at all since I was 20. I am almost terrified at the prospect of the next 30 years going as fast as the last 30.

I can deal with the younger kids growing up, that happens fast, within a couple of years a child is a teen and a teen is an adult

What makes me feel old is seeing people you take for granted growing old, people retiring, watching your parents grow old and slowing down a bit.   Then acquaintances or family members dying, an aunt, a publican, a shopkeeper, a neighbour. People who were constants in your life - and sometimes it hits you that a whole generation of people you knew are gone, the next generation are starting to leave and you are gradually sliding in the same direction.

My mother was one of 6. She's now the only one left. And she's now in a nursing home.

My second cousin who was 4 the last time I saw her, now has a driving license.

I think Movies is where I suddenly catch myself and think.

    Jurassic Park(1993) - 28 years old.

    The X-Files - also 28 years old.

Batman Returns - 29 years old

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - 30 years old!

I now feel like starting a thread "Sh1t that makes you feel young", honestly I do. Over past year I have seen folk decades younger than me crumple physically and mentally, maybe part of pandemic. Not always coping invariably admirably myself, I've been through a shitload of health issues over time, but I can say that last couple of decades has seen a general huge improvement in my well-being, the last year being a massive psychological blip for reasons largely beyond my control. Same as so many.

Yeah, I remember, at the funeral of a granduncle, overhearing my grandfather (oldest of 8) talking to his one remaining brother (youngest of 8), saying "well there's only going to be two more of these days". Both of those days have come and gone and my own uncles/father are quickly approaching the same age they were then

i have given up trying to keep up with new music, i don,t know what garage or grime music is. most edm songs sound identical , nice music sung by unknown female singers .why does half the male population have the same fade haircut.i don,t understand the new memes on tik tok.the new consoles are hard to buy, i dont care about playing a game in 4k, hdr with ray tracing . Consoles now seem to be turning into pcs. the whole point of consoles is they could be played on any tv, easy to setup ,you should not need to be a tech expert to play console games ,eg this is a good game but you need to download a 30gig update to play it online .products seem designed to be absolete after 3 years.

I saw an ad for a second hand TV on a local group I'm on. It got described as "Having ports for all the old consoles like the Wii".

I definitely felt old when the Wii was described as an old console.
