Small studios/flats

Looking at what I can afford in rent, I am looking at these small places.

I should be entitled to HAP which should help. But even with HAP, I am thinking if I was to lose my job. So based on that, 900 euro would be the most I can afford. Looking on daft, it seems all I can get is a studio or small apartment.

Are these places up to HAP standard and acceptable places for the council? A landlord that can charge that much for place where you can't swing a cat makes me think they're too cheap to make it HAP standard.

OP can I suggest you call Citizens information and/or Threshold. At a guess this is your fifth separate thread on here in a very short time. You'd be better getting your questions answered by CI who have all that information on file.

Just want people's experiences, in all fairness, citizens information won't tell me anything more than what's already on their website. Threshold isn't any better for finding info on these small places.

It is an expensive place to rent but if you could move out from the city centre a bit then your budget might go further. BTW, did you mean total 900pm or 900 in addition to the hap subsidy? Would a house share be possible?

Any place that's rented under hap has to meet the standards for renting and the council will carry out an inspection to make sure the accomodation is compliant. If theres anything not up to regulations the landlord would have to sort it out.

I meant 900 total, which isn't the best.

I'm in my 30s and can't be doing house shares anymore. But I might have to change my mind on that if I don't get anything suitable.

I'm afraid the places I'm looking at might not be up to standard. They're places a little bigger than a shed.
