2021 - 2) Bitcoin: Hard Money You Can't F*ck With: Why bitcoin will be the next global reserve currency - Jason A. Williams.

Very good read on Bitcoin and currencies in general.

    2021 - 3) Born Standing Up - Steve Martin.

This was recommended by Jerry Seinfeld and thus I'd been trying to get hold of it for a while. An interesting quick read - but lacking the depth I was expecting. Got through it in about a day.

2021 - 7) Unlimited Memory: How to Use Advanced Learning Strategies to Learn Faster, Remember More and be More Productive - Kevin Horsley.

Very much enjoyed this. Lots of good memory tools & techniques.

Solid overview of the region and players past, present & potentially future.

2021 - 11) Not Nice (Stop People Pleasing, Staying Silent, & Feeling Guilty... And Start Speaking Up, Saying No, Asking Boldly, And Unapologetically Being Yourself ) - Aziz Gazipura

This was quite long winded as you can see from the sub title above. Picked up some good nuggets amongst the long and winding narrative though. Book could easily have been 25% the length.

2021 - 12) AWS Certified: The Complete Guide for Master Your Exam: AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Guide (CLF-C01) and Certified Solutions Architect-Associate (SAA-C02) - Neville Dawson

This was terrible. Author copy/paste the whole thing as a disjointed & badly misspelt rewording.

2021 - 13) AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Training Notes 2021: Fast-track your exam - Neal Davis.

This book was much better than the previous one above. Concise & well organized with enough practice exam questions to prepare you.

    2021 - 14) The Hobbit - JRR Tolkein.

Re-read this classic for the first time in over 25 years. It actually moves much faster than I remember. One minute they are having tea and cakes in Hobbiton... the next they are half way to Murkwood.

    2021 - 15) Kensukes Kingdom - Michael Murpurgo

This kind of reminded me of a cross between Lord of the Flies and Life of Pi. Simpler than both. Nice tale.

    2021 - 16) Blood & Oil - Bradley Hope.

    Current affairs.

    2021 - 17) Leonardo da Vinci - Walter Isaacson.

This was quite interesting. I had put off reading it for a while as thought it would be a bit dated. Isaacson can always portray the subject in an entertaining & digestible fashion.

2021 - 19) Horrible Science: Vicious Veg - Nick Arnold.

A bit tougher going that the previous read above. Funny nonetheless.

    2021 - 20) Code Breaker - Walter Isaacson.

DNA, RNA and all things & personalities related to BioChemistry & Genetic Engineering. Good read. A bit heavy going initially with all the Biology and Chemistry. Picked up pace after about 33%.

    2021 - 21) The Naked Millionaire - David Taylor.

Thought this might be a good motivational financial planning book. Quite generic. Not the best.

    2021 - 22) Idea Man - Paul Allen.

A memoir from the co-founder of Microsoft. A quick and well written read. First half focused on Microsoft and the second more on investments and projects since then.

2021 - 25) Before Hiroshima: A history of the fall of Hong Kong and Singapore and the aftermath during World War II - Jacqueline Jeynes

A collection of short snippets stuck together it seems.

2021 - 27) Memoir of a Nerd: Humorous Essays and Short Stories - Hank Mancini.

Enjoyed this - especially "practice makes perfect" which was about a random girl he met camping in Yosemite and then never saw her again.

    2021 - 28) 50 Cent - A candid bio of self-made hustler - JJ Vance.

Not sure why I read this. It just happened to be convenient at the time. Not the best written bio.

2021 - 29) The Black Sheep Rebel Girl Rises Again: Whimsical Tales and Truthful Lies - Rachel Hutcheson.

Again not sure why I read this. Convenient at the time. The writing style is not my thing. Too much magical realism/fantasy/daydream.

    2021 - 30) Lost Horses - Mark Saha.

A collection of short stories involving horses. Better than it sounds. Really well written.

    2021 - 31) Papa Hemingway - A.E. Hotchner.

Just finished book after a couple months as was reading it amongst some shorter ones listed above. Melancholy ending looking at photos of the things he did in his life and how he got to that end state. Worth the read if you are interested in Hemmingway or just generally a fully lived life.
