Am I being overly suspicious towards cars up for sale from dealers for something like 40 days? I have in my head that many would have viewed the car in that time and got spooked by something I'd probably miss. Just talking run of the mill, normally driven, roughly correctly priced cars. No abnormal tax or insurance demands…

Just talking run of the mill, normally driven, roughly correctly priced cars. No abnormal tax or insurance demands or massive mileage. What might be the reasons a car described to be in great shape is tough to shift?

Depends on loads of things. Would immediately arouse my suspicions though.

Are the cars actually still for sale? The advert could be up for 40 days but the car actually sold well before that. Seller just didn't take the advert down.

I enquired about a car recently that had the advert still up and the car was sold 3 days after coming in. The advert was only taken down 2 weeks later. This was from a premium brand main dealer too rather than a portacabin type dealer.
