I think posters shouldn't be taking the bait from that user.

    Outline them please.

    1 Great pandemic response
    2 Peace in Israel
    3 Justice for George Floyd
    4 Vaccine rollout
    5 Stopping rural broadband
    6 Got Ulstebank out
7 No new border on the island of Ireland
    8 Kneecap bringing out H.O.O.D.
    9 Got Trump out

10 2 new slots for the 7d (planned obviously pandemic is a problem)
11 cancelled the ridiculous whitewater rafting centre
    12 stopped racism in Ireland

13 got Claire Byrne (her candidate) on the green ticket in Dublin Bay South (this is more internal green party stuff)
    14 Grange Gorman bollards
15 Massively increased cycling amenities in Dublin

16 convinced some loo las to leave the Green party (making it more electable)
17 Kept rents at sky high levels (which is bad for some people but good for landlords so swings and roundabouts)
18 Huge increase in quality of take away food (Hazel knows this inside and out because her mother owned 7 Chinese takeaways - not high quality ones)
19 Preservation of take away pints
20 Got the Shickolownee to batter scobes

Best parody since The Day Today.

    Well done.

The recent tweets seems fairly positive with some campaigns and promoting business. Exactly what a Lord Mayor should do, good stuff

I see we have another political party An Rabharta Glas - Green Left . Setup by some ex Green councillors and the Hazel wishing them well

I clearly missed their launch, had never heard of them

I don’t know how she gets away with such disloyalty, does she even want to be Green party member? Ran as an independant and supporting members who left the party

Makes the leadership look weak :/ Most other party leaders might slap you down for this

And here's this wonderful new party: https://anrabhartaglas.ie/ - I can't see it lasting very long as there's already numerous other hard left groups out there and no need for another.

The fragmentation of the greens is very telling, it shows how the older generation members simply don't truly understand the seriousness of the issues being experienced by its younger members, it's become stuck and transfixed on its main concerns, but is unable to see the bigger picture, and the fact, all of these issues are of equal importance and seriousness. Ryan won't last much longer, and if the party doesn't pull its socks up soon, it to could go with him.

Maybe, maybe not, there's not actually many hard left parties at all, there probably will be another, more rebellious green party after all of this

Sinn Féin, People Before Profit/Solidarity, Aontú, Right to Change and Independents 4 Change and there's plenty more lunatic fringe parties here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland#Parties_and_groupings_represented_in_the_Oireachtas

Aontu are no way far left.
they would describe themselves as centre-left but my own opinion would be they are quite centre in most items . That said i don't think the left-right political descriptions are apt anymore politics has evolved beyond that scope.

The Irish left. Otherwise known as the anti property tax coalition. I assume this new pseudo water melon party will die on that hill as well.

you do realise, most people still vote for traditional parties, i.e. ffg, the political left is a mess, but sf is quickly changing this, and rightfully so, oh and aontu are far from being a left party, theyre actually very conservative

Aontú would be firmly on the left, an older more Irish working class version of the Left but still on the left.

Obviously, but what that has to do with my point about there already being a multitude of leftie parties out there and no need for the new Left/Eco party?

About 19 registered left parties in Ireland.

the traditional political left parties are lost, they abandoned their base a long time ago, theyve no real idea whats going on, why the ideologies theyve been supporting and encouraging, particularly over the last couple of decades, are continually failing, hence why we re now experiencing a growth in new left parties, this is in fact urgently required

    Looks like a death spiral.

No evidence that the new smaller left parties have any less out of touch.

Yea, they're absolutely atrocious, no coherency at all, no true realistic ideas, a lot of shouting

When her term as mayor ends, she'll either beg the Social Democrats to take her in or get a role with some money pit like the NWCI. She's be perfect at finding ways to waste taxpayer money.

Paying her is a waste of taxpayers money.

why, should the mayor work for free, or something?

    Wanderer78 wrote: »

what might help her is if she had clearly defined tasks as should any position, but in this case the mayoral one, instead of spending her time on her personal agenda.
That way the taxpayers money spent on her postion might be voewed as less of a waste.
People elected in are figurehead representatives, the real actual work is always done by someone else.

I think the poster is suggesting the Mayor is doing such a poor job they are a waste of money.

is it really, who says? ive always seen it as an ambassador type role, and since humans generally do the job, they all bring their own 'personal agenda' with it!

Thats very obvious. We all are.

The majority in here believe Chu is doing a poor job. Id tend to agree.

A very selfish, self serving person. We need less Chu.
