Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    This was just posted on the Galway Facebook page. Why have they changed their mind and what sense does this make?

    'Just five days before their planned re-opening, they have today heard the news that William Street West, The Small Crane, Dominick Street Upper and Lower will NOT be partially closed off to allow for safe outdoor dining, as was previously announced. Their hopes have been suddenly dashed after weeks of excited preparation, not to mention the enormous cost of obtaining outdoor furniture, wind-breakers, heaters and all the rest. On the back of the most difficult of years, this is a huge kick in the teeth for the management and, ultimately, the staff who are now unsure where they stand for the next few weeks.'

    I think the decision is not final yet. Seen a post on Galway City Council page which sounded like it was still being looked into. Bit crazy with it all due to open in 5 days. Feel sorry for the business in that area.
