Socialising with different people and making new mates.

Absolutely nailing a hybrid or fairway wood off the deck and watching the ball ascend.

Taking a new club out for the first round.

Taking in the fresh air, experiencing nature, and spending 2-4 hours without a care in the world.

Two things that really get me going on the golf course!

Absolutely creaming a nice low one with my 4 iron, Jesus, is there a better feeling!

and a close second is a low spinney chip that just pulls up before the hole and rolls out to within a foot.

And i really enojy the craic, and chats.

Hitting the practice ground with a bag of balls and an unlimited amount of time to spend. Peace, tranquility and the joy of trying to work on something with my swing. God, I'd be out there all day (and no-one complaining about how long I'm taking :pac: )

Striking an iron well, even if it's offline I actually don't mind as long as I struck it well and it went the distance it was supposed to go.
Hitting a long putt close to the hole, my pace is all over the place so I'm delighted when I can 2 putt from outside 20 feet.

Judging the wind, elevation, temp etc just right on a par 3 in non normal conditions and using a club 2 up or 2 down to land it pin high in front of your mates .....pro feeling!

Playing brutal for 15 holes only to play the last 3 perfectly. Just enough for you to love the game again and bring you back the following week

Taking on a difficult shot and pulling it off. Maybe you were forced into a flop shot or maybe you just said feck it, I'll go for that sucker pin. But you feel like the man when you do it.

And of course - the big drive. The combination of wind, elevation, hard ground, a favourable bounce and most importantly nailing it! And suddenly you're 320 yards down the fairway and have a 9 iron into the par 5 green for your second. That definitely feels good.

Giving a 3 wood absolutely everything to a long par 5 and watching it sail through the air. I don’t think there’s a better feeling than nailing a fairway wood. The sound, ball flight and landing of a high one is so satisfying. On one of our par 5s your eyes can play tricks on you with the way the backdrop is. Sometimes you think you’re long and OB and the ball suddenly drops 30 yards short. Every once and a while you give a 3 wood everything and you end up pin high for a back pin. Another 15 yards and you’re OB so when the course firms up if you catch it thin you’re adios.
