Creaky Engineered Wood Floors

    Any idea why a brand new floor, Engineered wood floating on an OSB subfloor, would be so creaky when walked on? The creaks aren't restricted to any particular boards, but in a few general areas, where there's a groany creak. As far as I'm aware, the OSB never creaked before the floor was put on.

    What was the previous floor? Joists are not level, OSB didn't get enough screws. It was n't glued and screwed as should be?

    It's a new build. The floor is floating, so it shouldn't be screwed.
    Is there any way of narrowing down what it might be?

    Edit:
    I should add, that the worst creakiness for the most part is confined to a rectangular area of floor which will creak 99% of the time when stepped in, and much less outside that area. It doesnt seem to correlate with either the OSB or any particular planks of the floor.

    Is the floor level, laminate floors usually creak if there is a dip in them

    It's level enough. No more than a couple of millimeters anyway. It's an engineered wood floor, rather than laminate.

    Engineered, solid or laminate, the will all creak if there is a dip under them

    It's on an OSB Subfloor fixed onto joists.
