Eley are British so Brexit does play a part. Fiocchi are Italian so there’s really no reason why they should come through UK distribution channels. Even if they’re transported through the UK there’s still such as thing as transit in sealed containers/lorries that doesn’t attract tariffs or duties.

Knocknagoshel have a lot of cartridges in at the moment ranging from €240 roughly and upwards depending on the brand.

Ya they are very smooth a lot nicer to shoot then the pro ones themselves which have good hitting power but I feel them a bit punchy to be honest. You won’t go wrong with hull to be honest

Not necessarily, if Europe and the US can curtail speculation against each other’s currencies you can pretty much keep “quantitative easing” for a good while yet. Never mind the Chinese in that picture, they’ve probably been cooking the books for the last two decades anyway.

It was a probably a year since I bought them with the lockdown. Looking now I used to get eley Olympic blues in outdoor sports for €55 a slab in 2019. They're now €70. Massive price increases.

Cheapest I found in 2020 for trap shooting in between lockdowns were basic Tunet universelle at 55 a slab, they are now 65 in same shop And they tell me they will go to 70

Personally I’ll go back to my fiocchi and gamebore which are better shells and have ‘only ‘ gone up 5 a slab, and I’ll be buying a lot less of them

You would think that it should be possible to import cartridges directly from europe, RC/Fiocchi/etc and avoid the UK altogether. If i never again saw an ELEY cartridge it would not bother me. Maybe our market is too small for a direct shipment from Europe?

Because we are a tiny market tacked onto the British market as far as a lot of European manufacturers are concerned. Look up a lot of Irish agents for shooting goods and accessories, its usually someone in the UK. We're just not a big enough market to bother with.

I sent a scope to Sightron for a reticle change recently. The told me to ship it to Optics Warehouse in the UK.

Sellier and Bellot had a rep here
Lots of Italian cartridge companies RC, fiocchi etc will whip direct to Irish dealers as said above
Problem is it was always easier to just order from the UK took less effort
Nothing to do with market size , a company is happy to sell a few extra containers direct from factory to Ireland

Prices are gone through the roof. The "cheap" cartridges are around €70 a slab

Yes Knocknagoshel getting a large shipment of Clevers in this week, not a big fan of them prefer fiocchi more so fiocchi TT ones myself find them a good hard hitting cartridge.
