Sorry for another custom fitting thread but I couldn't find an answer when I searched.

I know Foregolf have you hit on a range instead of a net or simulator, what other places do that?

Pretty sure in Kinsealy you're on the range.

I'd guess that the GUI academy in Carton would be the same, though not 100% there.

I'm assuming they don't build the clubs like Foregolf do?

I'd go to Foregolf only for they're booked until July

In halpenny/ mcguirks they take your details from the monitor & send info to manufacturers to make.
It’s about finding the best shaft for you and your swing. the club head is purely aesthetic.
I’ve done both Foregolf & airport fitting center.
FG was a nice day out as you felt like a pro, if you’re prepared to wait, I’d recommend it.

I probably should say I'm based between west Waterford and Dublin so somewhere between, or within reasonable distance of either of those.

I went to him and found him incredibly good, he uses a range rather than a simulator. Have also been to foregolf and found him much better.

I’m currently awaiting a set from Peter. He is excellent, dispels myths around flex & weight which sees people simply choose stiff vs regular or 105 vs 120.

As an example, he showed me details which demonstrated that “regular” in one manufacturer was firmer than stiff in another. Far more detail given on kick point, flex in butt vs tip of the club.

His pricing is very reasonable when compared to the OTR competitors so nothing to fear there.

The only thing that may deter someone is that he doesn’t carry most of the more recognisable brands.

Specialises in some of the more esoteric brands such as Gimar, Tour Exotics & Miura but he does carry the full Srixon/Cleveland ranges.
Also, manufacturers his own putters & wedges.

75e for a fitting and zero pressure to purchase. It’s worth the 75e even if you don’t purchase to determine your swing speed, suggested shaft, lie angles & shaft length.

Him not carrying a more extensive range is what puts me off somewhat, for no particular reason, I guess it shows the power of marketing!

I think I will go to him, f*** it, I can always buy another driver if it doesn't work out.

It’s understandable and I thought about it too. TBH, I think I’d be least likely to pick some of the bigger brands now when I see how heavily discounted they become later in the season.

FWIW, a mate of mine was fit with a driver from one of the bigger brands & fitters last year but quickly moved on.

He has since switched to a Srixon ZX7 and loves it. Once someone carries all the shafts then you’re mostly fine.

The tech in the heads hasn’t changed much in years, more forgivenesses for sure but most brands have a “Players” head & Forgiving head now so I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Driver fitting might be cheaper than 75e too as mine was an iron fitting.

Best of luck either way, once I got fit, I decided I’m too invested to give up now :D

That's why I want to go to a club builder as opposed to one of the retailers. Foregolf would be my first preference but the summer will almost be over by the time I get a club from them

His selection of irons seems to be better than drivers too.
He is every bit as good as FG I have been to both,he has his own wedges and putters he has developed himself brand name is Aidhm, one thing to remember about the big brands is that it's you who is ultimately paying for the big sponsorship deal that Rory or Tiger signed,I have Srixon driver and 5 Wood, Tour Edge Wedges,Cleveland putter,my irons I got the heads online Peter put shafts into them the most important part of club is shaft, think you would be pleasantly surprised if you go to him

I get that. My issue is his selection of drivers is pretty small, regardless of brands. I don't like those huge asymmetrical driver heads - which a lot of what he has seems to be except for the Srixon ZX7.
