Stage 6 and the first summit finish beckons. With tomorrow likely to be another sprint stage it once again gives the GC contenders an opportunity to soften each other up a bit.

The final climb is 15km long, but it's the last 5km or so which should bite as the average kicks-up around 8%.

We'll see whether Tuesday was a blip for Yates, Evenepoel etc and indeed if Bernal's show of strength was a one-off or indicative of a real return to form.

Joe Dombrowski a non starter due to concussion from yesterday’s crash.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,107 ✭✭✭mr spuckler

So Dombrowski, Sivakov, Landa all out :(

Francois Bidard from AG2R also gone after that crash

Dan, Dan, he's our man, if anyone can do it, Dan can!

A Dan day today? Possible a bit too early and too easy to see GC attacks. If anyone feels like a bit of a leg-stretcher in the final though, he should be well equipped to match them and maybe catch some others napping. Will be small gains if any today.

All the talk is for a big break to go as GC teams won’t want the jersey just yet. That should make the early parts interesting to watch hopefully.

These shots of the caves they are showing are something else.

I installed a TV in my home office last year, ahead of the Grand Tours kicking off. Brilliant decision!

I have a perfectly good home office but I'm still on the couch :pac:

Eurosport player/app is gone cat lately - stalling buffering. Makes no difference if you have 10MB or 1000MB broadband

Eurosport.co.uk works fine on laptop but for some reason it won't cast

Yeah I've found that for a good while, disappointing alright. I find GCN Plus's app a good bit more consistent, although I have to start it, close it down, and then start it again

I was having similar for the last month but since the Giro started casting from the app has been much better. I put it down to the snooker being on and them not making adequate provision in the datacenter for increased demands.

I left it run one day and after an hour what was being cast was 25km behind what was live on my desktop.

They're saying that Mollema & Bouchard have made it to the front! That effort will have knocked the sh1t out of them though.

    edit: that rain...

Whats going on....No live pictures, cyclingnews down?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,107 ✭✭✭mr spuckler

CN has been down since mid-morning, very odd.

Pictures seem to go to sh1t any time it rains heavily

    A 43km descent for the lads :D

edit...sorry that's after the next short climb I think

If this coverage doesn't improve, I'm going to be forced to do some work.

CN seems to be down due to a datacentre failure, they tweeted earlier.

Fvck sake, missing a split in the bunch thanks to the sh1te coverage. It looked like Dan was in the first of those groups all along anyway. I'd fear for Dan though on a very long descent given his descending skills and seeing how Ineos drilled it on that one too.

Possibly in the wet as well - not pleasant.

Coverage is sh1te so I’m going out on my bike :)

Their kit is even harder to spot than usual too

All black now with the rain capes on too.

Crazy splits this early in the stage

Any idea how long the descent is? You'd think Dan Lloyd would have mentioned it...

They seem to be riding in and out of the weather. Dry with the break now.
