    Well kinda anyway

Hopefully a few more will follow. Bit annoying that a private company has the foresight to get things going before AI or county boards.

    🟢ANNOUNCEMENT🟢

5,000m training races will take place on Saturday, May 15th. We will be hiring Le Cheile track in Leixlip for the afternoon.

The format: 15 athletes per session, strict entry and exit times from the track so each group of 15 will be off site before the next group come in.

    ⏰12:15 to approximately 4:30pm

➡️Registration will open at noon on Tuesday. There are very limited places.

These are open to runners of ALL ABILITIES so don’t be shy!

Have a nice weekend everyone. 😎😎😎

Pop Up Races. It's on their Facebook page.

They did a great job last year when again they took the initiative with return to race last summer. So they already have plenty of experience of doing it (particularly as it’s the same location and probably running a programme of operation similar to the Day of PB’s). Now, if only to get a slot...

No Vaporflys/Alpahflys etc on the track! :pac:

    It's been a funny week.
The perfect storm of three big variables.

The hospital admissions and ICU numbers have continued to fall to a level the scientists/medics cannot ignore, albeit slowly after two public holidays and schools opening, put down to the vaccine serving its purpose.

The North of Ireland were about to move so far ahead of us in terms of their freedoms we had to correct ourselves to prevent mass movement of people up there, weakening our economy further.

The money has run out, talk all week almost whisper like dropping into press releases and Govt interviews of the fact we have to pay back the money for the measures of the last 14 months. A mention of tax here and there over the next few months and bang we are hit with a new stealth tax in Sept just as the supports dry up for people getting back on their feet.

All in all a lot yet to unravel in this mess of our lifetimes, but at least we are moving beyond it and will have some races to look forward to soon.

Dublin Marathon hopefully holding fire yet..

Nifty idea to use a go-kart track as a road running track. Pop-Up of course have used Mondello of course, but the idea of using a go-kart track is a nice idea for a closed circuit of racing. But of a trek for myself to go that direction though...

JustRun Events in Kildare announced last week they intend to run their Thoroughbred event on Father's Day -although they are splitting the events with the 5K on Friday; 10K on Saturday and HM on Sunday with the intention of letting people off in waves. Most of it sold out at this point mind you, but interesting to see in what forms is does take (have a HM ticket myself for it).

The Sonia O'Sullivan running track in Cork has re-opened. Great to see although annoyingly for me the Garmin coach plan I'm following for the (virtual) Cork half is now done with the interval sessions.

Anyone know if it would be possible for participants in today’s races to park in Intel’s campus across the road from Le Chéile’s track?
