    amazing work.

The weekly misery and begrudgery bonanza!

Tear/misery P*rn you could call it..........where everyone feels better because it didn't happen to them - the viewer!

    The competitions are rigged tho.....

When you read it out like that it beggars belief. Was there some bizzare market research that told them what people want to see is misery, death and anguished tears? I get the it suits them as sadly in this world there is a never ending stream of grief and misery if you go looking for it, but how can anybody think that that is a reason to show it to people last thing on a Friday night after a hard week?

I laud the charity campaigns and helpline numbers given out and awareness raised of course but at a point I have to wonder is this programme actually doing more harm than good? How many people stressed out of their minds and depressed watched Barry Mcguigan. It can't have helped anyone and in years to come I think will be looked back on as emblematic of this really really strange direction rte have taken with things.

Oh wow, when you see it all laid out like that..
That's just shocking out of RTE.
While those topics definitely deserve airtime and a platform, a show that is classed as light entertainment is not the right fit for it.

Have you sent this to rte?

I’d say RTÉ would say that it’s not just about entertainment and The Late Late Show has always dealt with a variety of topics. But when you have Claire Byrne Live, Primetime, The Week in Politics and Claire Byrne, Ryan Tubridy, Brendan O’Connor and Joe Duffy on the radio dealing with serious issues you shouldn’t need to have so much of it on last thing on a Friday night.

Was funny going though each week. I thought “this particular week wasn’t so bad. Oh, actually I see they are going to talk to a woman who was raped by the Irish Fritzl! Nevermind.”

They really like brain tumours and cancer. Must ask each guest if they have a relative that died recently that they can bring into the conversation because you know Irish people like death.

    Seriously?

You obviously haven't watched the show in a long time.

It's been a constant stream of misery for years now.
