Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Ct clamp extension

    Hi All,
    My CT clamps are not connected right at my meter, but instead in my main fuse board. I have a small fuse board in the garage that is not visible to my solar inverter or diverter as a result. To fix this, I was going to relocate the CT clamps to the meter box. The question is, can a. Single cat5 cable be used to connect 2 CT clamps? (one for the inverter one for the eddi)? Given they are twisted pair and measuring the same quantity I'd hope there would be no interference between them, but would appreciate any advice.

    Yes, but if your pulling one cable, I'd pull 2 just in case.
    Id also be leaning towards cat6 cable instead of cat 5.

    Would be even better if it was shielded.

    Is your supply split at the meter between the house and the garage?

    Yep the supply is split at thr meter. True, might as well run 2 cables to be sure. Will be a dose fishing it either way...
