    The Joker (Batman series)
    Jack Torrance (The Shining)

4 very good contenders, like all of them
I will go with Joker and Jack Torrance - I know that Nicholson's Joker isn't the most favourite of many people, but I love Burton's Batman films, so for me it would be a Jack Nicholson vs Jack Nicholson final.

Gonna have to go with Hans Gruber in the first match. I think picking Joker is a bit of a conundrum as he’s been many different things in many different settings. He’s been camp, psychotic, an incel, comedic but it just muddles it a bit for me. Hans is the ultimate scary but suave European despotic prick and he gets my vote.

Jack Torrance gets my other vote as he starts as an every man. Gets a little tired, then grumpy and finally full blown mental case. It’s the dissent that does it for me.

I cannot believe we got to the semi-finals with no Wicked Witch of the West. Boards.ie is the only site on the web (dark web included) where she doesn't at least make the quarter-finals, and is the only place in the universe (known and unknown) where she loses to Cyrus the Virus.

The Joker - Both great antagonists but Joker is just that more iconic for me.

Hannibal Lecter - Just the quintessential villain. Even if you've never heard tell of Silence of the Lambs, you've heard of Hannibal Lecter. Jack Torrance is enjoyable but has definitely gotten a round too far here. Wouldn't have made my quarter-finals.

^This times 100, over xmas there were only two movies I rewatched the original Die hard was one of them. I still can't believe how well it holds up for 1988. There is the one scene I don't like (glass and feet, shudder).

However I've not voted as I'm struggling to separate some epic Joker performances from my love for Hans :D

There is a greatest xmas movie ever contest happening in the xmas forum atm and Die hard got knocked out of it early doors.
I even think Die Hard 2 stayed in longer than it.

What do those people know about Christmas movies?! :pac:

Although to be fair, Die Hard 2 is the second greatest Christmas movie.

I've seen it on in the background but never paid any attention to it. I do realise there is something I'm missing out on according to its popularity on Boards :D
