Presumably related to the significant helicopter noise over the harbour for the last hour or so (now gone). There are vids on Twitter showing lots of blue lights in the area.

Lots of blue lights earlier either side of the river in NUIG and along Dyke Road, south of the Quin Bridge. Hopefully a false alarm.

Gardaí are carrying out a search and rescue operation this evening after a woman is believed to have entered the water from Quincentennial Bridge in the city.

An Garda Síochána assisted by the local fire brigade, civil defence, RNLI and the Coast Guard carried out a search of the area.

The search has been stood down for the night and will resume again at first light, tomorrow Sunday 7 February.

the chap at Salthill & the girl at the Salmon Weir Bridge. When & where was the 3rd person located?
