My understanding of the toroidal t90 dish was that all postions on the 40degree arc should receive the same quality of signal as if they where the only positions on the dish.

Not exactly ,the gain does vary across the dish .
The T90 performs as a 90cm dish at +/- 10 degrees from the central satellite .80cm outside that to +/-20.
Outside +/- 20 degrees the gain rolls off dramatically.
At a 30 degree offset ,the dish only performs like a 40cm dish .

Just trying to figure out if it centred on 1w would I still get 28.8 on it?

I centred mine on 1w and I do have 28e on it by extending the arm a bit and putting the lnb out at the very end but the signal isn't great and in any sort of bad weather a load of channels drop out.

I'm going to put up a separate 60cm dish for 28e and stick with 19e-5w on the t-90 for the moment. I haven't got around to putting more west ones on it so far.

Centred mine around 10E so can get 28E - 5W no problems
Have extension bar to try and get further east, but need to get back to that.

Out of interest what west ones are you trying to get?

i guess what i'm wondering is if i centered on 1w - ok i'd have to get another dish for 28.2 by the sounds of it, would my reception on 1w increase substantially?

Just getting 19e and 13e mostly. I used to get some feeds on 10e and 7e but they would be hit and miss so I picked up a 1.6m dish but its still in the shed and I've had no time to do anything with it. All this feeds into a 16 to 1 diseqc switch and it works ok.

    At the moment I have 19e, 16e, 13e, 10e, 9e, 7e, 5e, 1w, and 5w and 28e hanging on the end but hopefully I'll get a zone 2 dish up to replace that one.

How do you manage 10e,9e,7e and 5e ,I though 3 degree separation was the smallest possible .
Are you using slimline lnbs for 7e and/or 5e ?

10e and 9e are on the 1 lnb which is a standard size one with it more on 10e than 9e as 9e has a stronger signal and 10e has the feeds on it.

7e is an alps slimline lnb and 5e is another standard size lnb. They are all tight to each other but work ok. I don't really use them much anymore

    28, 23, 19, 13, . 8w, 30w

hate to reopen an oldish thread but.............:rolleyes:
@Micks_address, can you confirm that you are getting all of those sats from just the T90 ?
if so, what sat is it centered on ?

I am looking to get 30w (have a seperate post up before I discovered this one again) and it seems I might not actually need another dish .
That would be great if so, just a pain to reset the current T90

    cheers

30w is separate dish.. Look at the pictures.. White dish almost at right angles to the t90 is 30w

    I'd say if you have 19 then I wouldn't bother with 30w

Just for any enthusiasts I'm throwing and add up on adverts in next couple of days for my t90 setup, lnbs diseq switches and vu+ solo 2 box.
Heading back to sky after a great few years.
Thanks for all the help in the thread.
    Cheers,

    jabus,\
if I didnt watch something when it was on live, Id NEVER get to see the TV :D:D:D
In my house TV time must be booked in advance, in triplicate, in case it clashes with numerous and various soaps that are on !!!!
