Of all the actors I might have pegged for that late-career action renaissance, Bob Odenkirk wouldn't have been high on the list. Yet, here we are; the action looks solid and with David Leitch producing seems more genetically linked with John Wick, favouring longer takes during its chaos.

Looks like enjoyable trash. Enjoyed the scene of him strolling around with a MP7 and painting. .

Where John Wick was a dog person, Nobody seems to be more of a cat person. The kitten with its head in a can of cat food is a nice touch.

Bob Odenkirk says he trained for two years:

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

Massive meh. Starts out like a Death Wish clone, ends up like a John Wick / A History of Violence clone.

Have you seen this. I thought it wasn't released until 2021.

Not much new via a SuperBowl trailer, but there's a better sense of the tone anyyway:

This is out in the US on Friday and seems to be reviewing very strongly. Doesn't sound like it'll be anything revolutionary, especially given it's penned by the writer on John Wick and the trailer's clearly vibing those films, but still praised for being a solid, crunchy action film

Exactly the kind of film I'd like to see these days, mindless escapism. Wont be available for streaming for a few weeks though.

There needs to be a David Cross cameo in there somewhere...
    Maybe covered in blue paint...

I’m sure there’s some obscure arthouse ****e that would be more suitable for your delicate sensibilities than this movie. Revenge porn ffs, it’s an action movie

Don't forget the rap music and video games.

There is an epidemic of mass shooting in the US, and as the January hillbilly krystalnacht showed, plenty of weekend warriors who like to cosplay in their military surplus gear, I'm just not sure where Hollywood entertainment sits in the conversation. Movies like Nobody only really work in America, where gun ownership is as common as owning a car, but there are deeper problems at play than worrying if said films are part of the issue. I don't think they are.

Another record season for hurricanes... it it any wonder with our new gay marriage laws (and of course global climate change).

At least you're half right. :pac:

I blame the global depopulation of pirates, personally.

Watched about 40 minutes of it earlier, thought it was absolutely rubbish, but each to their own.

Enjpyable fare, funnier than John Wick, but with about the same number of Russians getting f**ked up.

I enjoyed it! Great soundtrack great set pieces and over the top violence!
I'm hoping Gene/Jimmy/Saul goes all "Nobody" in the final season of Better Call Saul!

Really? I watched half it last night. But got taken away from it.
Can't wait to get back to it tonight. I thought it was riveting.
And I'm not into just outright action and violence for the sake of it - i.e. like John Wick, Extraction etc.
But I thought there was something more engaging to Nobody, at a more emotional level. And love the soundtrack.
Going to try to sneak in the the remaining 45 mins this afternoon - will have to ship off the wife and kids for the afternoon.

Slow opening but overall really enjoyed it. I was surprised that Odenkirk was able to pull off the action so well.

If you liked Taken (and I loved it), is this your kinda film?

As in, it's Taken but with a dark comedy edge?
