    Not really cars but...
    2.8td Daihatsu fourtrak
Toyota land cruisers 95series or older
    Hilux gen6 or older
    3.1 trooper
    2.5td pajero
    Nissan patrol
    Pre pd tdi caddy
    Dturbo partner and expert
    Pre d4d hiace
    2.5 smiley transit
    2.4 transporter
    Pre d4d dyna

All the above with a galvanised chassis and rust resistant bodies.

Honest workhorses that can handle the toughest of conditions with simple legendarily reliable diesel engines that don't choke themselves to death if they don't see motorway driving.

Emission regulations have hammered this market segment.

Problem being with all the safety requirements and other legislation and people being used to more gadgets and stuff in cars the revamped versions of those would struggle to look or feel anything like the originals.

The Alpine A110 revamp was able to do it very well, but...

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

I'd buy an original BMW 8 series in the morning if they made them just like that....

More realistically for my budget, I think I'd buy a VW corrado... As much as I loved them though I think they might have dated slightly, more than the 8 series for me anyway

    Honda Prelude.

    Great car.
The pre d4d Hiace suggested earlier were top class too. Sow on diesel, slow as fcuk but the fcuker would start first tip and go forevermore..

    Came in to post that.

Uncle came home in a Datsun Laurel with electric everything, even an electric aerial! Best brown car I've ever sat in.

Nah. I want a brand new MkIII 2.8 as it left the production line in 87. Not a 2020 version.

    Also a Citroen SM.

Alfa 156. I went in for a test drive on a demo. Loved it and bought that actual one instead of waiting for a brand new one.

Great cars. I've had several Capris in my time & they are truly great cars to own.

Monza is a great shout as is the Saab. Cars I'd loved to have owned.

My vote though would go to the Rover SD1.

If anybody else but British Leyland made it, it would have been a true world beater.

It had everything. Great styling. Practicality. If only the damn thing was made properly..

I'd love to buy a well made one with a V8.
