Out of interest, what list of range fees would apply to members?

Ah, balls. I forgot level 3 meant stay in your own county. Here i was thinking of getting in before Christmas for a quick zero check.

What dates will the range be closed over the Xmas? I have two weeks off and wanted to see if all this dry firing was worth it!

First they came for the socialists...

The notice above suggests they're available for booking everyday except for the 25th.

Once you go to the 600m range, there is a fee, as far as I know. Think it's €15.00.

The 100 to to 300 has no extra charge for members. But, I do stand to be corrected!! :)

Can non members pay a fee and shoot on the 1 2 and 3 hundred mitre / yard range

Yes, but you must have a member to sign you in.

I think it was €30 last time I signed someone in. I can't remember ever paying extra to shoot on the 600 yd line either. Paid for the target, but that was it. Having said that, I rarely shoot out on the longer ranges. I know members get to enter competitions at a discount. Usually ends up being something like €20 instead of €50 or so.

Just give JP a text using the number in the update in post #1. I'm sure he'll be able to answer any questions you have about use of the range.

I did the same too, but on the last visit between lockdowns, Tony mentioned the €15.00 fee for the 600+ ranges.

Seen as the last update was 29 NOVEMBER on this site,

AND GOVERNMENT update was 2 days ago,

    HOW ABOUT AN UPDATE ?

Are you open ?, can we attend ?, for how long ?,

Are you cowtowing to all efforts to close small business's, are business's in BOGS affected by ESB closures,

    We need to know.

If you can do the job, do it. If you can't do the job, just teach it. If you really suck at it, just become a union executive or politician.

AND GOVERNMENT update was 2 days ago,

    HOW ABOUT AN UPDATE ?
Who are you talking to? The MNSCI staff don't post directly on this forum but on their Facebook page.

All details in this thread are from members that bothered to look for themselves and find out from the Facebook page the range's most recent update regarding shooting during lockdown. So far the message remains the same as the notice in Post #1 above.
    Are you open ?
They are. In the notification in post #1 it says they are open but people must respect the level of lockdown and obey all/any travel restrictions.
    can we attend ?,
In the notification in post #1 it says you can attend, assuming you are abiding by the restrictions currently in place regarding travel, etc. and to book an appointment 24 hours in advance.
    for how long ?,
That, i would imagine, is subjective and dependent on the number of bookings per range, but again its only my opinion and you should contact the range for precise details.
Are you cowtowing to all efforts to close small business's, are business's in BOGS affected by ESB closures,

    We need to know.
Now you're just being a dick. Considering the time of this post and it not being your usual attitude i'm assuming you're tired or some other factor is the cause of your bad attitude. Either way there is no excuse for it.

All businesses, not just the range, have no option but to abide. Its not fair, i don't agree with the restrictions and i know its going to devastate a lot of businesses, but breaking the lockdown laws and staying open is a sure fire way to get closed down for definite.

The range, all ranges in fact, don't set the rules. I don't see anyone giving Harbour House or Lough Bo a hard time for obeying the Government restrictions on travel and sporting events, but you can be sure they are following the rules too. The MNSCI must abide by the law otherwise they'll find themselves shut down.

If you want to break any travel restrictions that is your business, but to break them and travel to the range where your entry will be recorded places the range in trouble.

The notice in post #1, if you bothered to read it, explains everything. The restrictions were in place until December 18th, so YESTERDAY. From today on travel restrictions normally associated with level 3 are relaxed and you can travel outside your county while maintaining the other standards of level 3. However the Government announced yesterday their plan to meet and discuss a tightening of restrictions on a date yet to be set but between December 28th to 30th.

So you have approx. 10 days (not counting Christmas day) to book a range visit and get over for a shot.

I was there this morning. 10 or 12 lads there ... which for a Saturday morning is busy enough.

As is requested above, I booked a slot with JP by text. When you get there, the barrier is down, so you have to ring again to be let in.

Was good to be out shooting again, albeit my last time this year I'm sure. Hopefully next year will bring us some normal range time.

New update from the Midlands range:
    MNSCI wrote:
Notice re Inter county travel due to current Covid restrictions.

Please note due to the current level 5 restrictions now in place , we have to adhere to the inter county travel ban. For us this means limited to members and guests of members within the Offaly region only.

As a gesture in this current climate we would like to extend an invitation to members of target rifle /pistol ranges who are resident in Offaly and who cannot at present travel to their own respective ranges out of county , a warm welcome to come and avail of our facilities free of charge for the duration of the travel restrictions .

We realise this does not help many of you however we are trying to give as many people as is possible a chance to enjoy their sport while still living within the restrictions.

The range is equipped with sanitation stations and like so many ranges due to its outdoor non contact environment it is easy to comply with the social distancing requirements.

Therefore any shooter resident in Offaly who has an up to date membership and their own insurance with any other target rifle / pistol club are welcome to shoot here.

For all members and guests booking of the range must be made in advance by text to JP on 0868232641

All attendance has to be and will be registered .

Any queries contact JP on the above number
