    Their stuff is great.

Verdant coming to Ireland soon as well.

The Vineyard in Belfast has been stocking the Kernal for years. I like their single hop stuff but never been completely blown away either.

The Kernel is soon to be available on these shores. As I'm sure most people know, he's a guy from Waterford that lives in London. Had the pleasure of a tour of his Brewery in Bermondsey 5 years ago. If you see the Pale Ale or IPA grab one!

I never knew he was from Waterford. I picked up some of their beers years ago near Peckham. When I shared them with my brother in law there, he realised the brewery wasn't too far away, so we went to the tap room the following day.
I'll be glad to get to try them again over here!

The Vineyard is a quality off licence with a great whiskey collection too! Have had both Kernal and Verdant there. And Beer Hut too which is quality

I remember coming across Kernel in Putney in around 2012 and being massively impressed - really hop forward, balanced IPAs.
I do hope that they haven't gone down the hazey route like so many other hop happy breweries!

They literally invented the style that became known as "London Murky", though that's more saison/table beer than IPA.

My memory of them was drinking beautifully balanced, really hoppy, bitter, malty IPAs.
I have no problem with unfiltered - my obsession isn't with clarity.

Was served a can of rambler 'juicy' pale ale by porterhouse. Wasn't impressed by their stuff before and the new range is no different, watery, thin and far from juicy.

White hag dark Druid chocolate orange pastry stout
First and last time I drink a pastry stout-what’s wrong with people? Disgusting

You really have to be in the mood for them, I usually drink them after dinner when I fancy something dessert like.

I wouldn't judge all pastry stouts by that one. I wouldn't even judge the Dark Druid series by it.

There's too much added flavor and not enough of the hops coming through. They turn my stomach tbh.

Trying the chocolate orange pastry stout right now. Wouldn't be mad about it. It's not as sweet as I was expecting, thankfully.

I remember having their salted caramel one during the summer - so heavy, sickly sweet but I guessed as much and had it as dessert. I have the chocolate orange one on the way from Craft Central, and plan to reserve it for a dessert drink again.

Rascals did a much nicer job with salted caramel.

Are Wicklow Wolf any good? They have a selection 2 for 5:90 in SV 440ml cans , worth this?

Good to know - have one of those lined up for the near future.

Wicklow Wolf have released a chocolate Mexican stout as part of their on going series.

They're very reliable. It depends on what the beer is and whether it's to your taste, but there's no issue with quality.

I like them all, but prefer Elevation to Mammoth, but normally go Apex or Hoppy Red (even before having it at room temp, where it's really nice).

The sessions that are 2 for €5 (or €4.9 something) are also decent. I prefer "Avalanche" to "Eden". Moonlight, their 0.5% is probably the best 0.5% ale I've had, just gets beaten on price by Brewdog/ Roadworks.

After a rotten day at work, there's nothing beats a cool Sierra Nevada pale ale imo, cheers!

Any idea who the distributor is?

Nope, asked them on their investor forum and they confirmed it but didn't name who.

I got Mother Macs scraggy which I can confirm is better than normal scraggy.

Just had a can of Lervig NZDDHDIPA (a Double Dry Hopped Double IPA from NZ) and it is very good. Would be a big fan of Lervig (especially their coconut stout) but this was much better than expected.

I was very tempted to get a growler of Wicklow Wolf's double IPA, but decided to pick up some 8 Degrees stuff from Number 21 instead.

Tried the Bohemian Pilsner for the first time in years and knocked it back in less than 10 minutes. Managed to make the Knockmealdown Porter last slightly longer!

I also got their new campfire porter and a Scaldy Porter from Whiplash to add to my Christmas box of stouts and porters.

    Hi
Does anyone have recommendations for an Ale that isn’t to hoppy and easy to drink. I like Sullivans I got in Killkenny before . Something along the same lines.
    Thanks

Had the Bohemian Pilsner last week. It was lovely.

Stone Brewing Enjoy After 04.20.17 Brett IPA. I've never had a Brett beer before, nor an IPA that was nearly 5 years old, so I really wasn't sure what to expect with this at all. But I was given it as a present so it would have been rude not to at least try it, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Stone describe it as being spiked with Brettanomyces before it's corked, which would possibly account for it still being pretty lively on opening. I wasn't expecting much by way of hoppiness, which was how it turned out, instead it was initially a bit sour followed by quite yeasty flavours. If I was to class it as a particular beer type, I'd say it most closely resembled a saison. It was pleasant enough and quite easy to drink, but if I was buying for myself I'd rather spend the €20 on something else tbh.
