...where to enter that 089 number?

This is the procedure for iPhone...

    Call...

    **5005*7672*+353894300000#

The message "Setting succeeded" should appear on screen when completed.

Tried that and when I hit dial the number just disappears and nothing happens.

    I'll keep trying it though.

    Try this....

    1. Call the number *#5005*7672# to access the Service Center Address settings.

    2. If the Service Center Address is not +353894300000, call...

    **5005*7672*+353894300000#

Still not working I'm afraid - must be something wrong with my phone.

Got a 48 sim sent out but don't need to port my number so will use the number they give me but no number comes up on the sim when inserted into a phone?
Does a number only apply when you buy a membership?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,921 ✭✭✭Ten Pin

If you have signal then there's definitely a phone number assigned.
Log in to my48-->my profile-->my details.

Phones don't automatically display phone number.

You get the number when you log in to 48.ie website and register the SIM and activate it.

Anyone else tried using a referral link lately?
If I click "Get Started" on one now, it briefly shows the page where you enter your name/address to get the sim sent and then it disappears and redirects to the normal order a sim page.

    Are referrals gone?

Yeah i had issues with it too but after a few attempts it loaded correctly, try on different devices

Tried it on 2 phones and a laptop with 3 different browsers. Even tried on wifi, mobile network and an Irish VPN.
The only way I got the page to stay was to quickly click the stop button before the redirect but then when I enter my details and click submit I just get a never-ending 48 logo.

I think that's how it's supposed to work, it briefly records the source referral link on their system and then redirects to the order page. Interrupting the page load is probably breaking the link to the referral code.

Hey, are you able to receive verification codes when signing it to Amazon?

I'm not receiving them. I used to before.

EDIT: Apple, Microsoft are not working either.

If you have 2FA enabled, be careful!

Just having issues with verification codes now... Worrying if you were having them this morning and still not resolved

Got onto 48's chat and their response was "I'll raise a request to the relevant team about this issue and this will be resolved until Monday or Tuesday as the technical teams are not available on weekends"... Sigh

Anyone know how to extend the time it goes to voicemail? Tried the advice on the 48 website but no matter what I do it will only ring for 15 seconds.

I just tried it there on a 48 sim and the Authmsg came in from N26 and also got a text sent from PayPal.

PayPal worked in the morning too. So did Yahoo, Dropbox and Google.

Apple, Microsoft and Amazon did not work. I just tested Amazon and Microsoft, does not work. Haven't retried Apple.

I got that response too. Before that the person was telling me to tell Amazon to send it from a different number. OK, I'll give Jeff a quick buzz and let him know. :pac:

How do I get Amazon to send a message and I’ll try those out?

If you go into your account and go to security, part of the 2FA setup sends a text and some emails to you. I got the emails but didn't get the text

    Thanks Aquos!

Here are the pictures of what you need to do:

    Step 1: Account

Step 2: Add your phone (If you currently have one added be careful, if you don't get the OTP message, you won't be able to add it again until you receive the code)

Step 3: Once you add it, enter the OTP code that you should receive on your phone

    Is this what you tried...

    Dial...

**61*(mailbox number)**(number of seconds you want it to ring for)#

Is your wife using 48's number or did she port the number over?

I wonder if they screwed something up with my and Doomofman's SIMs?

How long have you been with 48? I only joined at the start of the week (using my existing number)

5th of November is when I registered and got their number. But then I moved my number over on the 15th (which was messed up and I lost the plan that I bought on the 5th. Then they re-applied a new one).

I don't think it's an outage. I think they messed up ports or SIMs.
