I'm assuming Monday since they are setting 4pm for the official release.

Anyone else get kicked out of the registration before entering address for verification email? I seem to be stuck in no man's land...number reading as registered so can't start process again but email not linked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,404 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Still can't get logged in, some mess.
I said it on the other thread, but bears repeating. I'd say the login url 'escaped' rather than being released and they are currently in testing mode. A bit of a hint is that the confirmation emails are coming from a New Zealand email account and that's where DotGolf are based.

It didn't ask me for an email address. Mine was already in the database and it just came automatically after I entered my number and PIN.

It is supposed to be tomorrow. That's what we were told this week during a zoom call about WHS

I got 9.3 from 10.2 but missing 6 scores, none of them good but will push my best out of the last 20. Four are unprocessed away scores in golfnet and two are more recent ones from October at my home club

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,427 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

so my verification mail came through after a good while.... then another, then another lol

anyway, first glance it looks like some scores are missing
25th July, QMH, NR, GD 19, ND 7
    14th July, QSA, 32 points
    30th June, QSA, 36 points
    22nd Feb, QSO, 30 points

All above, qualifying and would make a difference to my handicap. Some other winter scores missing, but non qualifying to don't make a difference.

there are some other July scores present which are in between on 11th and 21st so it's not like a date range was missed.

having said that, My handicap at the end of September was 9.9. My initial HI as of same date....... 9.9.

This would give me a course handicap on my home club of 11 off the blues and 11 off the greens. Fairly spot on really, as I had an ESR of 1 shot in September

My current handicap is 10.4. I think when they add in the missing rounds from October and the ones above, some low scores will be dropping, so likely to go up a bit more.

For the guys in the know, should I pester the handicap secretary yet or wait for any updates which might get rolled out? Don't like to annoy them if not necessary, they are busy enough

    Handicap index * Slope Rating / 113

So for myself in Athlone off the whites

    7.1*125/113 = 7.85 = 8

    My current handicap is 10.4.

So on my second course I would get
    Blue 135 - 12
    White 133 - 12
    Green 129 - 11

    rounding those, is this correct?

is your playing handicap then 95% of above or 95% of exact?

Green Tee should be 12 I think also (11.8). The 95% is applied after you have worked out your exact course handicap. Exact Course handicap *0.95 as per this on the FAQ
Why is there a Playing Handicap of 95%?

For competition purposes the 95% is required to balance out the increase in Course Handicaps of higher handicap players against that of lower handicap players.By applying the 95% adjustment on a course with a Slope rating of 130, a 36.0 Handicap Index player will have a Course Handicap of 41.4 (41) converted to a playing Handicap of 38.95 (39) but a 5.0 Handicap Index player will have a Course Handicap of 5.75 (6) converted to a Playing Handicap of 5.7 (6), therefore an adjustment is required for competition purposes

We were told by our club today that the current data on golf ireland is still a test data set. That there will be one more refresh on Monday and then a review phase next week. And that this is why they didnt advise us to sign up yet.

They probably had questions coming in today.

I can see some of the data isn't right myself. There is a good number of comps in my top 20 where the course/tee/slopes are wrong. Recent comps missing altogether.

Is there a 95% rule to be applied to this?

In singles competitions, more than likely.

    In fourballs, probably not.

    why not in fourballs?
    it used to be 90%
well it used to be 75%, never understood why it went to 90%. that was daft, just meant now you needed nearly 50 points a four ball comp!!!

Looking at the playing handicap tables sent out by my club, it doesn't look like there is a 95% rule

The Handicap Tables give you a Course Handicap. This then has to be converted to a Playing Handicap depending on the competition you are playing. For Singles it will more than likely be 95% of your Course Handicap

Yeah. 95% for strokeplay and stableford. That 95% is taken from your integer course handicap. Not the decimal. O think it's 75% for fourball.

Think it may be still 90% for fourball but hopefully its gone back to 75% :-). Singles matchplay I think will be 100%

Fourball allowance has gone to 85% for Stableford & Stroke
90% for matchplay and V Par

The 90% was for fourball matchplay and fourball V Par

    100% for singles matchplay

Once you do the site is actually very good

    Stuck myself too.

Got the verification email, click on it, brings me to the sign up screen, click the log in button, enter id and password, brings me to another screen saying "complete the process by clicking on the verify link"

    Very confused

It all depends on when how many times you clicked resend verification. If you hit it 3 times you need to wait for the 3rd email etc. At least that's what I gather from here and some fb groups
