Covid-19. What can I do to help?

I would love to volunteer a few hours a week to help in anyway I can. Maybe I could get involved in contact tracing or something.
I see plenty of others on here who would like to help too. And I know there are plenty mire in the real world.
If there is anyone from the government/HSE etc reading, could they point us in the right direction to help where we can?

My qualifications is BSc in Environmental Science, Masters in Organic Chemistry and currently writing up my PhD thesis in Organic Matter in different natural environments.

I can work, if required. Will need to get paid, as I don't have a source of income.

Where do I get more information?

Google i-vol, its the national volunteering service and they are looking for people to help out with the pandemic

I remember during the snow, volunteers were matched with people needing assistance. Could we do something similar for this ? What would be good ?

A lot of local bodies have arranged outreach groups to bring shopping to elderly or front line medical staff.

Front line medical staff because doing medical work in full protective equipment is exhausting. They may be able to do without the stress of a grocery run.

Dropping the groceries at the front door and making a phonecall to say they have been delivered. Perhaps you can find something similar to that in your area.

I’m thinking more online, maybe offer a listening ear to people ( similar to what alone are doing). My mum has been very upset about what is happening. I feel for people who have no family to reach out to. Also 200k people are out of work very suddenly, helping in someone way might make a difference to their own mental health.

Giving this a little bump. Donations now over €211k, which will be used to make sure medical and other front line staff are fed while they're busy looking after people. As an added bonus, local restaurants benefit too, so hopefully some that may have had to close can stay open.

Obviously this is for people who believe there is a pandemic and not that it is a conspiracy.
What do people think I or we can do to help. First of all stay safe our selves by following the guidelines. But what else can we do to help others?

Follow the guidelines, help get groceries for your vulnerable neighbours.

Keep in touch with family and friends, especially those who may be lonely and/or have a history of depression and anxiety.
