Jesus everyone baying for nephet to collapse, they are our public health experts at the moment not the bloody government, last night was a bit like a sledgehammer but they did it with the intention of saving Irish lives ffs.

You simply do not have a last minute meeting on a Sunday evening and lead level 5 to the media and expect no repercussions.

    It was despicable.

He is very unprofessional to be talking like that about an expert advisory group without one of them present to stand up for themselves .
If this goes pear shaped in a couple of weeks, he and others will be eating those words .

They need to be challenged and have different opinions put to them.

Yes by other experts in health and virology, not politicians

It's a strange state of affairs all the same, and whatever opinion we individually hold; the entire country, plebs and top brass alike are divided roughly half and half.

New Zealand has shown that proactive measures work.

Again on new Zealand. It's an island on the other side of the world 6 hours away from the nearest country. Anyone who think this would work here or Europe is an idiot. Like thick ****ing stupid

Yes and they will take responsibility.

They will be called granny killers in under a month!

Ignore professional expert advice as a politician at your peril.

The doctors versus the Spindoctors. One's the cure and the other's the disease...

Sure what would experts know. ..

NPHET advises X. With that said, blah blah blah, ask our collective ar$e.

Did I just hear McConkey suggest giving everybody a mobile phone? Is he having a laugh?

I think he meant the app on every phone but yeah, that's what he said

Trumps on the mend, feeling great apparently.

If a fat unfit 74 year old only has a few off days after getting covid are we wrong to be worried about it?
He was on oxygen twice and given two experimental drugs treatments....and monitored by a team of doctors.
His experience is not that of a normal unfit 74 year old.

I think we might just be alright at level 3. The GAA have put a stop to the crazy celebrations. Also the schools will be going on the mid term.

NPHET ignored elected officials last night when they decided to scare the whole country to death with that leak.

They got what they deserved tonight, ****.

The contributors tell you all you need to know about the editorial angle of this show. Alison O Connor a noted contrarian, Kevin Doyle editing the biggest selling tabloid and to top it off McConkey on the line who has been wrong on every one of his alarmist predictions.

Varadkar - The recommendations were not in line with what had been previously agreed with NPHET.

There was no drastic change from Thursday.

The HSE did also not share the NPHET view that the hosptials were in danger of being over run.

And again that is a disgrace.
Paul Reid playing fxxxing games again .
They have not been communicating so with NPHET .

For the love of God...it is NPHET.
The government has to take into account the economic impacts, NPHET doesn't.
    It is a balancing act.
Your never going to make everyone happy.

you're not your :D They need to start looking at themselves, hiring advisors etc is not helping their cause.
I was pointing out the hypocrisy on the site from some here that attack people they don't agree with and often use the government supporter excuse but the same lot are all now fawning of them.

Wouldn't be surprised if resignations are handed in tomorrow on the back of that interview.

I don't think I could stay in post after being undermined so publicly by the Government.

If half of them go in the morning I wouldn't be surprised. Why would you bother being associated with this?

Nphet fired the first shot leaking their recommendation about level 5 last night. Govt had to fight back, nphet aren't calling the shots.

Would Richard Boyd barrett just shut the eff up.

If we moved to level 5 he would have gone against it.

An effing mouthpiece of a fool.

    Sam on the money again.
Sam has no concern for the money that is part of the problem.
NPHET are not taking in any account of the realities of economic impacts.
There has to be some type of balance.
