Fair play to the protesting patriots. Now everyone suffers because of their actions.

Ha ha...not that I disagree but The five level plan that goes.....

    2/2.5

    2/3

2/3.. But some of you need to be a bit more careful

Sleepy Ryan... we hope we can avoid level 4.

5 EVERYWHERE! Run for the hills and panic!!

They are in power in the North where the government has made a dogs dinner of managing Covid.

We have global warming , Brexit , mountainous debt and a pandemic.
Sure all we need for the full house is Sinn Fein in power.

It's probably all theatre. NPHET and Gov agree on leaking Level Five recommendation, so that Gov can swoop in with Level Four across the board and sharp slap on the wrist to general public and threat of Level Five still hanging over.

The lack of guidance and leadership from MM and Stephen Donnelly is a disgrace.

    Cowards.

    Whole country is confused.

Tony Holohan does love a good lockdown!

Surely a bit extreme. He must really be worried about the health service becoming overwhelmed.

Cases in healthcare workers has gone up in the last few weeks. Last few days jumped to +150 a day. If staff keep getting sick with increased numbers then knock on effect.

Do these absolute ****tards really think people will stick to 2km and not go visit their own families anymore. They will lose the majority of people if they do this.

    I'll refuse anyway.

    Mentally, It will break people.

It’s obvious that with the way things are going that a couple of months from now level 5 would be needed, so going there now may mean we need to stay there for less time and can get things under control much more quickly. And fewer people would die in the process, though nobody seems to care about that these days for some reason because a few extra quid in your pocket and the ability to go for a pint are more important.

Eamon Ryan on the news earlier saying we could return to Level 2.

    Must be still asleep

Isn't he so out of touch, out of the loop.

I'd put more credence on the views of a random 8 year old. He's a ridiculously naieve man.

The Gov, Nphet whatever can decide on Level 5. But who will enforce it? Genuine question.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,667 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

I honestly don't think level 5 will be implemented for the entire country.
I'd say level 4 for the whole country possibly at most.

How about we try try pull together and limit this virus .......I will admit Government need to pull their socks up ...last few months have been a circus

How safe is it right now for a person to visit our Hospitals with the current virus levels

Are these hospital transmissions or in the community? Is there not sufficient PPE at this stage?

There is not yet pressure on hospitals

I know it will be considered anecdotal but I have heard from two sources that the indications are that hospitals are headed for serious pressure in the near future. I'm sure Gov and NHPET are party to data we mere mortals never see.

People don't get it. If you want your kids in school, level 5 is the only thing we have a chance with. No fvcking "advising" without restrictions. It makes a mockery of those who follow the advice.

No they are not. They are making a recommendation rather than a dictat. Govt ultimately make the decision.

Problem is the government has fully accepted every NPHET recommendation so far.

If they shut down construction again, I can see many companies pulling the plug on big expansion projects that are in progress.
Intel in particular are in the middle of biggest ever building project in this country. The last shutdown cost them 3 months delay which will cause delay on new products reaching the market.

Better level 5 now, then a much longer level 5 later.

The sooner we bring the numbers down the better.

Waiting will just result in a longer level 5 later.

Really looking forward to reading the letter sent to the Minister of Health. We're in a very serious situation. Not a very nice position for a Government though. Would love to be a fly on the wall in the next cabinent meetings.

Im sure a significant amount of that pressure was generated through mismanagement of hospitals for over 6 months earlier this year.

We can all pay for the criminal mismanagement

NPHET is so far removed from reality even by recommending level 5 that they should be disbanded

    Madness
