NPHET repeatedly failed to hit testing and contact tracing targets, which they set themselves. They failed to present simple, consistent messaging and lost the general public as a result. We've already paid the price for their failures.

NPHET are not in charge of testing. Get a grasp of some basics before posting.

    TONYS BACK BABY

In all seriousness though, that's surely a joke? They can't actually be serious? There's 22 people in ICU.
It does seem extreme to me.
The whole country does not need to be in level 5 imo.
The numbers in hospitals have been steadily rising though recently?

    This is like the Budget.

Leak one number, come out with a slightly lower number, everyone is happy.

Will probably be a Level 4.

The three parties in government will never ever recover from this if they agree with level 5.

Sudden jump from Level 2 to Level 5 might add to that fuel. We shall see what the government decides.

Presumably, they think it'll be water under the bridge long before the next general election.

That'll be extraordinarily stupid wouldn't it.

If we go to a nationwide level 5 (or 4) anytime soon then my wedding related business which is currently hanging by a thread will be utterly, irretrievably f*cked. The quickest way to register my dissatisfaction with the measures is to join a protest movement that already exists.

Level 5 is insane. Makes no sense nd I've been banned from the relaxation on restrictions thread for been pro restrictions.

4 weeks, yeah ****ing right. Give me a break. It'll go to NPHET then again after the 4 weeks and they'll say, 'oh we need more'.

Ironic given their currently out of bounds but the sporting analogy of the manager losing the dressing room certainly applies to NPHET at this stage

Level 5 is grand for public sector. Disaster for private sector. This is nuts. NPHET not just throwing a grenade, they're blowing a Howitzer sized hole through us.

Level 5 - we must be ****ing loaded.

Is there a national offshore account somewhere we don't know about full of rainy day dosh.

Quite a heartless approach if im being honest.

    But I believe he's right.
Existence does not give two figs about us -we're just so much bits of material moving around on a spinning surface .Life owes nobody anything .
I'm not claiming to be any great philosopher when I say this -it's what my life experience has demonstrated to me.
I graft and grapple like everyone to stay sane and alive but I control next to nothing and am acutely aware that existence will obliterate me at some point .
It doesn't have to make sense -but I accept the deal with as much equanimity as I can muster.

God bless the good ship Boards and all who wail ,sorry, sail in her.

Get on the phone tomorrow Am to your local
Td and register your absolute disgust in the strongest possible terms.
We have to speak up- this is about survival. There’s no way we can lie down and take this ****e yet again. All from 6 figure salaries **** who’ve had no cuts or ill effects from any of their failed “measures”. I’m furious tonight

On Thursday they said no need to go to level 3, now 3 days later they are recommending level 5? It's ridiculous and knee jerk. Cases are rising across the world but the death figures are trending the same very low.
It makes no sense closing shops again, when they pose little risk.

So this is an admission of a failure in policy. If that is the case and government moves to level 5 will there be accountability? Communication, testing, tracing has been a shambles.
