Absolutely. The time has come to drop the kid gloves approach and introduce strictly enforced regulations with harsh penalties for those who ignore the restrictions measures.

The restrictions crowd wont like that. The same way they objected to people stopping their house parties.

Why the hell they were listened to is another question.

I’m sure you’ll organise your group...

Oh wait you don’t go outside... whoops

**** the schools, just close them. Why even debate anything else when the numbers clearly have shot up since schools re-opened.
'Large gatherings' is a boogeyman, even though it annoys me that some folk just don't seem to be abiding by the same restrictions as the rest of us.

It is about facing up to the facts now and not prolonging the drawn out process until we eventually impose Level 5 which will happen at some point in the next few months.

Better do it now so we can face it head on and get our house in order.

If consuming 6 cans of Zywiec while watching the mighty Leeds battle Man City is a session, then you are correct.

6 cans? That’s only a starter. You should go to the pub and have a right ole session socially distanced of course

Mad. Some form of gaslighting I have to assume, deliberately having multiple different narratives so no-one believes the media.

Wouldn't know what the hell is going on, timeline messed up another report (buzzfeed) now says "JUST IN: White House physician Sean Conley has sent a memo saying he misspoke and that Trump was first diagnosed Thursday night and received the antibody cocktail on Friday.

Just looking through twitter there. People ain’t happy about the way the statement was released.

I know speed is of the essence, but you'd hope anyone writing a story on the report would read it through first, and then pick the relevant points to report.

Having said that, I don't really know what would be a good way to report "historic" deaths. It feels like they are somehow less of a death the way they do it now.

The first means of dealing with these idiots ignoring the lockdown rules is their identities should be recorded and they should be refused access to public healthcare if they ever get covid. If they're not going to take their health seriously, then why should the rest of us worry about them.

I agree full lockdown into the new year. If people don't learn to behave after that then I give up.

I think we also have to accept that it's possible people aren't actually able to behave like that.

We aren't all that cooperative and socially minded nor are we capable of assessing risk. Some of us are so socially minded that we aren't able to socially distance as the costs will, in some minds, outweigh the risks.

A large percentage of every population thinks only about the short term consequences of actions, maybe because of simple economic necessity and not having the luxury to think about long/medium term or maybe they're simply not very altruistic and don't care, some are diehard individualists and are buying into conspiracy theories and so on and others are perhaps just not very intelligent (and a lot of people are).

I honestly think we are asking too much of a society that isn't capable of doing this.

Perhaps it is a lost cause and we're just going to face a lot of deaths because humans are too stupid and selfish to get their act together or society's structured in such a way that they can't.

The US is a more extreme example of all of those issues and they are more than likely not going to get a grip of this at all as a result.

Sorry if it's a bit bleak as an assessment, but it seems to me that's where we are.

613 cases at a 4% growth rate gets us to 1000+ cases in 13 days

Will it be 13 days to reach 1000 though? The north had around 300 cases a few days ago and it jumped to over 900 two days ago and a high number again today (over 700). That's a huge jump in cases.

So it could be sooner than 13 days when we see 1000 cases a day. It's possible we might be up to 1000 cases by next weekend.

Im strongly calling for a change on the reporting regulations so its not an issue. 3 month period to report deaths is rediculous in a pandemic.

With the college students they should at least expel them at this stage after the other night.

They should introduce the Chinese tracking app. If caught ignoring the rules, no healthcare for them. Leave the hospital space to those who take it seriously.

the army mightnt be enough. the chinese bolted people into their apartments. we mightnt have the resources to do this now but over time if we hired some unemployed people to do it, it might be an option.

I am just so seriously sick of Covid and the sh1te that goes with it. I’m generally a glass half full person, but it’s hard when the numbers are going this way. I hate that I’m telling my smallies not to hug granny and grandad, all the first world stuff like just go and sit and have a coffee.

Facing into the winter which I don’t like at best of times but we’d always go away to the canaries during the winter for some sun, can’t do that. I know there are bigger issues but I’m just so pissed off today. :(

If there is some sort of mass divide then people that are afraid to live their lives will just lock themselves away for 6 months..

The big problem is we have no exit strategy.

We are hoping for a vaccine. But hope isnt a strategy. So frustrating.

We definitely should consider forcibly confining people if they don't comply. We've tried being nice and we were only laughed at. Time to break some heads.
