Pinergy are offering a tariff of 5 c/kWh (excl. VAT) between 2am-5am. However it's still expensive as they charge an additional 33 c/day for their prepayment charge.

If you are doing a lot of mileage and can schedule your charging you could save money.

I imagine there will be a lot of EV tariffs available next year when Smart metering is rolled out.

Yes it is higher, so if your useage is low it's one to watch,

But if you have an average useage it's the cheapest.

if you have your bills from the last year and have the amount used (kwh) the comparison websites are accurate. Eg bonkers.ie

Also if your didn't have an ev, add about 2500 units per 15000 km as a rough guide. That's where the night rate/ day night or nightsaver comes in, it's all the same thing but used interchangeably

If you don't yet have the nightsaver, as a guide take your annual usage and put 2/3 into day and 1/3 into night, then add the car usage to the night. But going forward the more you can shift into the night rate the more you save.

Our last meter reading was 500 day and 1200 night.
